SOURCE: check engine soon light is on steady; auto parts

You may have more than 1, did he by any chance tell you which one, if more than one? Either way, you may have to jack it up & put on safety stands, or just reach down to exhaust manifold, but that depends on engine, which one etc. If you can give more info, we can help. It sticks out from your exhaust manifold, or pipe(s) looks similar to a spark plug and has wire(s) coming from it.

SOURCE: Need to know location of Bank 1 Sensor 1 on engine

If I am not mistaken bank one should be your driver side. However your sensor one will be before the cat converter. So you just have to find the o2 sensor before the cat converter on the driver side. Good Luck.

What is code p1055 2003 Toyota Highlander base model

The code 1055 is brand specific, and for Toyota it means there is a problem with the heater circuit for the O2 sensor bank 2 sensor 1. That is the sensor in front of the catalytic converter or split and on the side with cylinder number 2 which may be the passenger side.
The sensor could have failed, or it could be a problem with the power source for the heater inside the sensor.

Hearter sensor po135

That's a code for the heater circuit for the bank 1 sensor 1 O2 sensor. Bank one is always the same side of the engine as the number 1 cylinder (V-6 engines). Sensor 1 is always before the catalytic converter.

Problem was diagnosed as the po155 oxygen sensor heater circuit bank 2 sensor 1 causing the check engine tocome on and stay on.

yes the O2 heater in the sensor will make the CEL come on because the computer is not receiving proper signal from the sensor.

The vsc light and the trac off light and check engine light all came on at the same time code p0420 comes up on my 2005 highlander what does this mean?

A p0420 sets after Engine and catalyst are warmed up, vehicle driven within set vehicle engine speed range and waveforms of heated O2 sensors bank 1 sensor 1 and bank 1 sensor 2 have the same amplitude.
Catalytic convertor and O2 sensors need to be tested

I have a p1155 error code on a 2002 toyota highlander. what should i do?

P1155: Air/Fuel Ratio Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1 Sensor 1) The sensor is on the Bank 1 throttle body with electrical connection. Its a delicate sensor. Unscrew it from the throttle body and check if its dirty, spray it with electronic cleaner with care. If its damaged, just replace it. If its not rectified, the car computer may default the air temperature to 20 degC and the air flow will not be correct and may have the following effect: 1. You might have difficulty in winter startups 2. Loss fuel efficiency (air/fuel ratio is messed up)/NOx problems/failed emission test/prematured catalytic converter replacement etc. CLARIFICATION An Air Fuel Ratio Sensor is also known as Wide Range Oxygen Sensor. Bank 1 Sensor 1 is mounted in the exhaust header before the Catalytic Converter (CC). The ECU uses the signal from the AF sensor to adjust Air/Fuel ratio. On V6 and V8 engines there is a second AF Sensor in the other header. (Bank 2 Sensor 1). After the CC there is a narrow range O2 sensor called Bank 1 Sensor 2. It monitors the CC. If there are two CCs there is a second O2 sensor (Bank 2 Sensor 2) The AF Sensor draws about 3 amps so check connections. The heater is a resistor between the B+ and HT terminals of the plug. On V engines there is also a AF relay to check.

Need to replace bank 2 sensor 2 on 2003 toyota highlander , where is it located

Bank 2, sensor 2 is a heated O2 sensor located below (after) the catalytic converter on the passenger-side. When this sensor gets clogged and/or goes bad from rust and heat fatigue, the voltage drops low enough to cause the electronic control module to register error code P0161, which then causes the check engine light to come on.

To replace Bank 2, sensor 2, remove the debri shield from just behind the front bumper, underneath the vehicle. There will be 10 bolts holding it on (10mm, I believe). After removing it, look toward the center of the newly exposed area and you will see 2 finger-like objects projecting out from the engine with wires coming out of each. The one on the left (passenger-side) is bank 2, sensor 2. The one on the right (driver-side) is bank 1, sensor 2.

I got my direct-fit sensor online for $55 from Remart Auto Parts. I know it is tempting to get the universal-fit type and save the cash. But after doing that once, I wouldn't care to do it again.

I found a YouTube video showing pictures of where the two lower (after catalytic converter) sensors are located. While the video only points out the driver-side sensor (bank 1, sensor 2), it's easy to spot the other one being only inches away.
