Hi i am 6`3 and 340 lbs. I am having a problem

Hi i am 6`3 and 340 lbs. I am having a problem with my driver seat. I think i am too tall for this seat. I am getting back pain when I sit down for 5 min, and it gets worse when i am in the car any longer. i have a lumbar support, but it doesn't help. I don't know what to do - I bought the car used.

You could try to find a set of gmc equivalent seats, the gmc seats are fully adjustable and should bolt right in. Also I have a friend who says caddy escalade seats will fit.

SOURCE: 1998 corvette Drivers Seat 4

the 10 amp fuse you checked is for the lumbar support, there is also a 20 amp circuit breaker in the fuse box there are two of them on for each seat, the drivers side is # 35 20 amp and hear is were we need to start, remove the circuit breaker and test for 12 volt at the circuit breaker, if there is 12 volt try swapping the two circuit breakers and if the seat then works replace the circuit breaker, if not then you will need to get to the wiring plug-in under the seat and check for power to both orange wires if no power on one or both wires then there is a brake between the fuse box and the seat, look real close were the wiring has to bend at the bottom of the seat rail this is were we see most brakes, if there is power at both orange wires then you need to test for power at the gray wire coming out of the switch wile holding the seat adjuster in the froward position, if there is no power replace the switch if there is power replace the motor pack under the seat.

good luck

let me know if there is any thing else you need.

2008 sebring convertable frt.driver seat does not back and forth

this seat likely has two different motors to operate these functions and the one that slides it back and forth could either have a bad fuse or could be bad. when hitting the button that should operate this function put your ear near the bottom of the seat and listen for any type of noise coming from the motor. if it sounds as if its trying to move your motor is likely seized. if you can spin the motor over manually it may free it up and you could never end up having to replace it.

The motors should be identical - only thing that might just be different is the drive mechanism since the seats are on different sides of the car.

You have a damaged drive gear in the seat, the parts are no longer sold for this ol of a model so your best bet is to try and locate a used one.

Hi and welcome to FixYa!

As a first course of action I strongly suggest that you manually put back the lever while you put the seat on the desired position. Sometimes the adjustment lever fails to go back so you will have to do it manually.

Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

I'd like to have my driver's seat on 2006 Honda Pilot go back further than the power switch allows. Is there a way to remount the seat so I can get another inch or 2?

not realy possible unless you put a differant seat to like an Accord in which you have to have it fitted for your SUV cause the Accord seat could be lowwer then the SUV seating it could also be just right if you are tall enough and rather larger then me to say I am 5'6" a friend of mine had a job similar done and he left the seat as is cause he is like 6'2" and works fine for his hight and wieght also the Accord seat has things that his did not like massager, heat , center back adjustment and hight adjustment

Not enough adjustment front drivers seat

First thing I'd do is go to any used car lot and sit in a similar vehicle. at 6'3" you are not excessively tall but that depends on how much of you is leg...sounds funny but people are not exactly the same. If that one is comfortable, check to make sure there is nothing caught in the track for your seat, and that it is going back as much as the one you tested.
If both vehicles are the same, you can remove the seat from the floor and re-locate the seat back a few inches. On many vehicles, at least two of the bolts may go directly into the top of the frame. You will need to tap new threads into those holes. I also recommend that you use a large (2"-3") washer on the bottom side of the others to prevent the bolt from pulling through in an accident. Track repairs if necessary on your seat are generally difficult and expensive unless you find something minor...in that case you can replace the entire seat with one from a scrapyard. If you don't have an unusual color, they are fairly easy to match.
