Trouble Code: P0708

Transmission Range Switch Circuit Malfunction (Shorted)

Possible Causes:


TR sensor signal circuit is shorted to ground.TR sensor is damaged or has failed..TCM has failed.TSB 01-40-020 (7/01) contains information about this code.Here is what is listed for this code.

I have a code PO707 for a hyundai accent 2001 and a code PO708


Code 707 is for an open transmission select switch, and code 708 is for the same switch shorted to ground.
I would test the switch and check the connection.

What is wrong with my vehicle if i get the problem code po708 and po401


P0401 is EGR flow insufficient, Check for restricted catalytic convertor. P0708 is transmission circuit range sensor, probably a malfunctioning sensor.

Ok I have a 1999 ford contour and it's giving a code of po708 the range selector switch ok I can change that no problem but I am wondering will that clear the check engine light and I also have a problem...


IT COULD BE RELATED CAUSING ENGINE TO DERATE (LOOSE POWER)
selector switch could be gettig stuck in overdrive causing engine to work harder to get car moving

My engine light came on. I have a 2000 2.5 liter 6cyl automatic Mercury cougar. We put a code reader on it and the printout has these codes PO708 Transmission Range Sensor Circuit High Input P1702...


If it has to do with the transmission then yes it prolly will be very costly. My best advise to you is to get an est. from a shop an see if its worth the price

95 Saturn SL2 with 1.9 engine


P0708 for your Saturn is , transmission range sensor circuit high input
