If I remember correctly, you need to pop off the plastic trim panel on the inside of the trunk to access the wiring. Just unplug it after removing all the screws and it should come out.

How to change the inside overhead brake lights in an 86 corvette

1.Remove the two Phillips head screws from the brake light lens cover.
Pull the lens cover away from the tail light panel. Set it aside on a soft surface because the lens scratches easily.

3.Push in the bad brake light bulb. Twist it counterclockwise to disconnect it from the socket
Insert the new brake light bulb while wearing gloves. Twist it clockwise to secure it to the socket.

Re-position the lens cover. Push it in firmly to secure it, and then tighten the two screws.

Good luck!!!!!

No brake lights-changed brake light switch-no fuses blown-all lights and signals are working-NO BRAKE LIGHTS

One of the most common problems with that situation is the turn signal switch. It is most commonly known as the multifunction switch, You can obtain one at an auto parts store. To replace it you will have to remove the cover from around the middle section of the steering column. You should be able to see some holes in the bottom section of the center section, inside those holes are screws that are usually phillips screws or torx(star shaped) screws. Remove those screws and you can remove the switch. The brake light switch power travels through the multifunction switch, I do not know what vehicle you have but I would guess ford or Gm. Hope this helps please leave a comment.

Replacing a brake light bulb for a 2006 chevrolet equionx

I just replaced the p/s brake light:
1. Pop off the tabs that cover the screws. (flat screwdriver)
2. Unscrew both screws. (philips-head)
3. There is a metal post attached to the light assembly located towards the front of the assembly pointing in towards the center of the car. This post fits into a rubber grommet that is attached to the car. I had to wiggle and rock the assembly to get the post free from the grommet and the assembly off the car, by pulling to the right.
4. Re-assembly requires lining up and inserting the post back into the grommet (use your best Beavis and ******** sound effect now). Put the screws back in and don't forget the covers.
