Locating the knock sensor on a 1999 Buick LeSabre Custom

the knock sensors are threaded in to the block on either side of the engine. One is located near where the oil dipstick tube goes into the oil pan. The starter will need to be removed to see/replace. The other is in he same place on the opposite side of the engine.

Speedometer does not move at all, this problem just appeared yesterday. i noticed even if i go into the passing gear, it still does nothing. this is a 2004 buick lesabre. onlt 80,000 miles on it.

Hi and welcome to FixYa!

If that's the case then the problem will be on the speed sensor itself. The speed sensor is located on the transmission itself. You will have to remove the connector before removing the speed sensor. By then you can start the replacement. Once replaced you'll be good.

Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

Miss at low speed 1999 lesabre. Changed plugs about 10,000 mi ago. Seems to run fine at speed. 90,000 mi

If you only replace the plugs, you need to go one step farther. The wires on today's cars are more important than the plugs. The ignition systems are high energy and when the wires get old they build resistance. This causes the energy to not reach the plug. Make sure you use Delco wires. If you do you will get another 5-10 years, If you use a cheap brand, you will need to replace them every year.

Hope this helps.

also do a fuel injection clean.

My 1995 buick lesabre check engine light is on

Take it to a real mechanic, not the phoney physics at the zone. The speed sensor will not respond if the car is not moving. May be an air flow sensor. They will go bad if it has ever been wet. They can be checked with a scan tool.

1999 buick lesabre fuel gauge is stuck on eighth of a tank

this is most likely caused by the sensor thay is locaed inside the fuel tank itself. usually when a fuel pump is changed , so is the sensor as it is attached with the new pump.
