SOURCE: What's the steps if changing water pump for a

I suggest getting the Haynes service manual for this vehicle. The number of steps needed to do this job are too numerous to list in the space available. If your engine is the 2.4L four cylindar, it is the same procedure used to change the timing belt. If you are going into the water pump on this engine, you may as well change the belt and tensioner pulley. If you do not have a well equipped garage, I would not attempt this job.

How do I change the WATER pump on a '97 Mazda 121 1.5l

A place to try, and see if they have service available for your particular car, at a subscription cost of $16.99 for one month (or $25.99 for one year), is at www.eautorepair.net . It's an on-line diy'ers auto repair site by the auto repair publisher, Mitchell. Pretty extensive diagnostics, trouble shooting, and repair procedures I am given to understand. You might check it out-sure beats $200 for the factory manual.

My mazda 2005 overheat but if i put high rpm like 3000 the temp. go to normal i allready change the termostat and water pump

Sounds like you need a new water pump. When you turn the engine at high rpm's then the pump is pumping faster and circulating the water. But isn't circulating the water good enough at lower rpm's

How do you replace the water pump on a 1992 Mazda Protege?

Hi:

The water pump is driven by the timing belt, which is on the passenger side of your engine. You would need to remvoe all belts, and then the timing belt cover, and the timing belt to change your water pump.

Timing belt/waterpump

usually a good time to change it is at about 100,000 miles. change it before it becomes a must or not ride(type of thing). if your water pump is run by your timing belt, then yes you should change the water pump when you do the timing belt. the tension from the new belt will sooner than later kill the bearing in the old water pump and it will cost you twice to fix it versus the one time fix. when you go in to the shop there should be no additional cost to replace the timing belt because it has to come off to replace the water pump.
