I would check for a bare wire. It will either be that or a poor ground.

SOURCE: Taillights are not working

check for voltage in the socket. positive is the center connection. if you have no voltage there, then you may be right. Make sure that you check the wires.

SOURCE: 1986 Toyota Pickup Instrument lights and tail lights out

Even though the relay is activated,I assumed you checked the out put? Also,You checked the voltage at the light sockets? With a meter,or test light ,check the fuse for the cluster lps, adjust them to dim,and to bright, the meter should act accordingly on the fuse.If it does not, replace the dimmer control,or head light switch, witch ever controls them. This may allow continuity to the tail lights as well.If the fuse is dead for the cluster lights, replacing the dimmer control,or head light switch will solve the problem,or,from another fuse ,supply voltage to the cluster lp fuse, one that is only hot with the key on,cause if you do this the dash lights will come on,every time you run the vehicle, day,or night.

SOURCE: tail light wiring connectors and wiring diagram

A test light checking each connector would be faster and easier to do. Maybe somebody may have a illustration for you but by far a simple test light is all you need with a helper turning on the different lights as you check them out and writing all your findings down

1999 Dodge Ram 1500 - Right rear tail light won't burn for tail lights alone, but will still blink for turn signal and light up for brakes. Bulb was replaced with no effect. Left still works.

The bulb has two filaments; one for brakes and turn signal, the other for tail lights. One filament is probably burned out. Replace the bulb with a new one

My taillights brake lights and turn signal lights go out sometimes and sometimes they work but are very dim what could be the problem?

is it only in the back of your vehicle? it is most likely a short in wiring somewhere. bad ground or ripped/ torn wires. Also could be water hitting a wire somewhere if it only happens when its wet

1993 chevy silverado parking lamps go of when i turn on headlights, signal lights flicker when i press on brake.

Yes I would look for a ground circuit problem. I would look at the ground wires for the headlights first. Even run a new ground wire for the tail lights to see if it helps.
Could be a ground connection for the body to frame or body to battery.

I need a wiring diagram for taillights for 1994 dodge ram 1500

Black is ground
Yellow is left signal
Green is right signal
Brown is running lights
If you are having problems with the tail lights check the wiring harness blocks for corrosion or rust. You may just need to replace them, If so make sure to lubricate well with Vaseline, this minimizes the problem with it later .

Having a hard time wiring a replacement taillight in 1999 Regal

You should just be able to find a hot wire 12v most likely the black wire, the ones with stripes are most likely tied in for trailoring lights. If there are only two wires 1 wire can go to a bolt or other bare metal to ground. You have a test light in the light itself, wire the 1 wire to a good ground and with the other end of the light wire touch to black wire with the appropriate turn signal on and when the light blinks in correct rhythem than viola, you have the correct wire. Direct current operates thru the light it doesn't have to be hooked up to alternate back to the power source like A/C. You could dissasemble the good/other turn signal and see which wire goes where, but with double element bulbs it is a 50/50 chance on which one is the turn lamp or the brke lamp. good luck.

Tail light ground (possibly)

Look for chaffed wires. A bad ground will not let the bulb work at all. Look closely at the wires on the reverse light. Follow them back to where they join the harness checking for pinch points or bare wires.

I would guess the brake fuse ( this does not use the same fuse as the tail lights/blinkers) or the ground for the brake light bulb.
