Heater not blowing hot

Check heater hoses when engine is running at normal operating temp. If your heater hoses don't get hot, then remove the heater hoses from engine and see if it isn't clogged with rust and corrosion.

No Heat, fan works engine is at temp.

Check to see if both heater hoses are hot when the engine has heated up and the heater is running.

You have 2 possibilities. One is that water valve is not opening and the heater core is cold, the second possibility is that the heater core is hot and the ductwork under the dash is not switching the flaps to give heat.

If both heater hoses are hot it means the heater core is hot and the interior ductwork is not channeling heat. You would then need to replace a movement valve or motor to switch the flaps in the ductwork.

Sometimes with the high priced options, there are self-diagnostics in the control panel of the heater. You would need someone to initiate the sequence and let the self-diagnostics pinpoint the bad part. Otherwise you need to dive under the dash and troubleshoot.

My trooper keeps over heating, I have changed the fan clutch, the radiator, the radiator cap. I have even taken the thermostat out. and it still runs hot. no crack in the block, could the heater core be...

The heater core being clogged would affect whether the interior gets hot air when set to hot temperature.

The heater core is like a very small radiator that wouldn't affect the temperature of the engine very much.

May I ask how hot it gets? Engines can get to 220 deg. F or 230 deg. F and still be considered to be running in a normal temperature range.

Heater blowing cold when set at hot

Hi, your engine sound run at 90 degrees when hot, if you change the themastate in the engine block sould cure the problem, if not bleed the heater matrix from the bulkhead with the engine running etc.good luck.

Heater not getting hot for a 1999 toyota 4runner

the heater switches in the 4 runners can someetimes get jammed because of corrosion inside the tap itself the easyest way to see if its jammed is to locate it behind the engine down near the firewall you will see two hoses running through the wall and one of these will have a tap . looks like a plastic fitting with either a rod with an actuator aarm or vacumm line running to it . witht the engine up to running temperature and the heater on check the side of the tap that runs to the engine for heat . if is cold then the tap is jammed closed . if its hot then you may have a blocked heater core

Block heater

Do you mean the Heater core ? If that is what you mean. It is under the dash just inside where 2 hoses from the inside of the engine compartment go right into the car on the firewall at the back of the engine. Those hoses have to be hot when the engine has been running hot.So be careful. If they are not hot, no hot water is passing through to the heater core.

Engine hot ... heater cold ?

Check the coolant level, it could be as easy a fix as adding coolant because it's low. Low level causes engine to overheat, and low level won't circulate to heater core, so no heat situation even though engine is running hot. Let me know if this fixes it, if not I'll help .
