1999 malibu 3.1 clyd 5 missfire and now random missfire oil light is on lfters very noise runs rough

Have you confirmed there is no oil pressure and the oil level is full on the dipstick?

The oil pump is turned by the oil pump drive located under the throttle body. The oil pump drive is run of from the cam shaft. It is not uncommon for the camshafts to break on these engines.

It may not be a bad idea to pull the front valve cover and turn the engine over by hand to see if all the rockers are moving.

Car sucks at idle and wont go over 40mph. has a p0300 code

Hi, have you done a fuel pressure test ,a bad fuel pump or stopped up fuel filter can cause a missfire code. your p0300 is a random missfire code. If you dont have enough fuel pressure to the injectors it will missfire because of not enough fuel . I dont now what your fuel pressure should be because i dont know what engine you have. If have any more question please re post.
Thanks dodge tec

I have a 2000 silverado w/4.3l vortec engine. I took it to a mechanic cuz I was having difficulty pin pointing a good diagnosis my code reader gave me only a P0300 random missfire code. He looked at it...

Try changing the spark plug on that cylinder, and then the cap and rotor and wires if needed. It is most likely the problem. If this was at all helpful, please rate, thank you.

Chevy suburban 5.3 2006 random missfire on all cylinders

Have you used all the gas that was previously in the tank, It sounds like you have a slight water in the gas. If you haven't used any gas since it started this, then I would drain it out and re-fill it. Also what type of plugs are you running, this will have an impact on how the engine performs. Some people use the most expensive platinum plug and the engine will only perform with the mid platinum or the OEM. I have seen a lot of cars like this and once the plugs are changed to a OEM or a little better plug, the problems go away. Good luck.

My 01 passat with 1.8 is having random missfire's . first the check engine light came on and I had it read it said it was running leanon bank 1 , the mechanic told us it wasmost likely the mass air flow...

Running lean on bank 1... is your Oxygen Sensor, which is mounted on the exhaust system...Now as for the misfiring, pull out all of you coils, and check the coil and the boot, for white spots..It may have a short, and the electricity is jumping around, and causing it to misfire...
