Question about 2005 Honda Civic 1.7i
Hi when i pull away fast the car goes in to limp mode and won,t go past 2500 revs untill you stop the car and turn the engine off for a few minutes then it resets its self. thanks
Gas or diesel , turbo or not? what year?
limphome. what year car? what engine,?
the top Limp reason is failed sensor. ECT/MAP/MAF/TPS. or crank/cam sensors.
the DTCs (all) that cause limpome are in the FSM,listed clearly.
the blue box above shows honda.
the dodge code. (bad MAP?) illegal Map pressure found.

Cam sensor failing, or crank sensor both do the same thing and is common fault they do get hot.

SOURCE: Honda Accord 2004 Diesel Problem
i had the same problem and it turned out to be a dirty fuel filter,am sure this will cure the problem,ps they are a nightmare to replace, take it to a dealer

make sure the sensor is still plugged in :) it may just need to be replaced. Dont drive until you do, if you can, take to the dealer, should be a less than 200$ fix total.

SOURCE: I have 1999 Honda Civic
where ever you had the belt change, take it back, and tell them they didn't leave it right, because it seems the timing is off. this happens when the timing belt is changed and not put properly. even if its just one tooth off, it can cause this problem. and for future transmissionfluid changes, the transmission should never be flushed as it can damage important components within the transmission. but like i said, have the timing belt refitted, because this is going to keep going on if its not fixed. hope this helps, goodluck
