Question about 2009 Pontiac Torrent
When you say it doesn't start, does that mean the engine cranks when you turn the key but won't fire, or absolutely nothing happens when you turn the key on? Does anything electrical work; headlights, horn, dash lights, radio?

Hi, i know that the link is about a different car type then yours, but the principles are the same.
Then place your new battery, connect it & test that it's working.
If your radio is working, write down it's security code.
Hope this helps you,

It sounds like you have a short somewhere that is draining the battery...this type of thing is usually caused by a faulty voltage regulator. I recommend taking the alternator to an autoparts store to have it tested...don't be surprised if the alternator tests good; a faulty voltage regulator can and will drain a battery in a matter of hours. I am including a link where you can order a voltage regulator for your Bonneville or, while you are at the autoparts store, you can buy one there. The link will help you to see what the voltage regulator looks like so you can identify it in your engine compartment. Hope this helps, good luck!

I replaced my battery 6 months ago. Recently, my battery would die, then I would get a jump start, it would run a couple of days and die again. This all started happening shortly after my rear wiper started malfunctioning, either from a short or a motor issue. I read on this website to pull the #3 fuse for the rear wiper motor, to disconnect it and prevent any further potential drain on my battery. I did and have not had any other battery issues.
which I did
