How do you know that your transmission is overheating? Do you have a heat gauge for it? Does it stop working? Won't pull under load? You need to give more information than "transmission overheating"

Changed xterra manual automatic transmission , now it's overheating

What's overheating? the engine or the transmission? If the transmission is getting hot, then most likely the cooler lines weren't cleaned. If it is the engine. It's just coincidence. Start with the thermostat.

Transmission overheating

Have a transmission pressure test done to check for internal problems . Have a clutch and band adjustment done. Run fault codes to see if all sensors and servos are working. Check for correct oil level in transmission as too much or too little will cause overheating. Consider the load that is being pulled or carried and the conditions for driving.

My taurus dumped its transmission fluid

This is caused by an overheated transmission, the overheating is caused by an internal failure of a severe overloading of the transmission like towing.

WHEN IM DRIVING, IT POPS OR JERKS ALL OF A SUDDEN AND THEN WONT SHIFT GEARS. WHEN IM ON THE EXPRESSWAY AND IT DOES THIS, IT WILL BARELY GO 55 MPH.

Your transmission fluid is dangerously low (tranny is dry). The pops & jerks are the transmission
internal components trying not to seize onto each other due to lack of lubrication and/or overheating.
Low transmission fluid leads not only to loss of lubrication but lots of overheating (of the tranny).
The loss of Elantra performance (speed tops out at 55), is caused by power loss due to friction inside the transmission. All your power is lost overheating the transmission (toward destruction), instead of
being transmitted through the transmission to the wheels.

The 2004 Elantra takes Hyundai SP-III Automatic Transmission Fluid, with 8.4 quarts used in a
total refill - but just 5 quarts at a fluid change. For How-to transmission fluid change instructions:

http://en.allexperts.com/q/Hyundai-Repair-815/2004-Elantra-GT-transmission.htm

www.autozone.com claims that 2004 Hyundai Elantra can take these non-Hyundai ATF's:
Lucas Semi-Synthetic Multivehicle ATF
Pennzoil Muilt Vehicle ATF
Valvoline Maxlife Dex/Merc ATF
Castrol High Mileage ATF

03 f-350 trans hot

I would begin by checking the transmission fluid level. If it's ok, then that means that your transmission has overheated. Have it checked for overheating damage by a professional transmission shop. If everything checks out ok have them add a secondary transmission cooler. This will allow the transmission to cool down faster under heavy hauling conditions. Hope this helps, good luck!

Transmission overheated only shifts when cold transmission will shift fine when cold but not when it gets overheated, can someone help me with this problem?

You should have a Tranny Cooler on this Truck. Look on the Front of the Radiator through the Grill. Do you see a Smaller Radiator attached to the Large one? If so, This needs to be Replaced Thus Fixing the Overheating Problem.
