Car Technical Problem

Holden Epica 2011. Starts perfectly every time winter, summer, except when I fill up at the gas station. 2-3 minutes turning the engine until it runs. It starts with a turn of the key then putters out. I have to keep the revs up for some time until it runs. This happens every time I put gas in the tank. Can be 15 litres or a full 58 - 60 litres. Then it will start every time till the next fill up. step one was to clean inside of fuel tank , lines and filters. Step two, replace fuel pump but problem persists. fuel is petrol.

When was the fuel pressure regulator checked or replaced? What about the gas cap? Did you ever change THAT? Gas caps are pretty cheap, and pretty much "do it yourself" items!

First of all, the fuel pump is generally located in the fuel tank, not always though. Yours probably is, in did not research it. The fuel electric fuel pump turns on only when the ignition key switch is turned to the start position and then left on. A series of one or two relays along with a pressure monitor in the fuel rail delivery system may or not cycle it on and off depending on design. Enough of that. I suggest that you remove the spark plugs to see if they are oil/heavy cabon deposits.If so, professional attention is reguired. One more thing you could try is replacing the spark plug wires. the may be old/worn out/damage. This would give the engine spark a stronger spark,if worn and also replace the spark plugs.

First is I'm sorry to hear that. Second is I think i know what it is. The Air conditioning compressor is locking up thus killing the motor or putting a heavy drag on the motor. I would say to have a/c compressor replaced because its malfunctioning. but i have a few ideas. There is a high limit sensor located in directly after the a/c compressor this tells when to shut the compressor off if its faulty it will create to much pressure and lock up the a/c has 2 aluminum lines going to it, the bigger line has a smaller sensor mounted outside right where you can see it and get to it, its a 2 wire plug, all we want to do is check to see its connected and secure. Do not true and take it out of the line there is pressure on it.. This is all you really can do until you service it. Lastly if i were you i would disconnect the a/c compressor from coming on, you can do this by opening the hood and going right to the a/c compressor and unplugging a 2 wire plug that's located directly behind the clutch assembly or where the pulley is. just to be safe have the car off when doing this. Good luck hope this helps...p.s. If you have had your a/c serviced recently bring it back there because they could have overfilled it causing too muck pressure causing this same issue.

Possible bad fuel pressure regulator.(you can check this by disconnecting the vacuum supply from the regulator,if fuel is in the vacuum supply your regulator is ruptured.the regulator is located on the drivers side fuel rail in the center of the rail.)The other possiblility is the fuel pump is getting weak and cannot build pressure

Check for proper fuel pressure so you can eliminate it's not the fuel pump. Check the relay and also the pressure regulator. Sounds like a fuel delivery problem.

My 1988 chevy silverado turns over to long before starting, it starts every time but long of turn over time,i've changed filters, injectors, wires, plugs


I have seen this kind of problem once. it cost 1800$ to ESSO
you have to know that the flash point of fuel is different
empty your fuel tank like usually and fill her up with new fuel at another gas station
flash point is the temperature where the fuel will ignite without spark. the flash point in summer is low and in autumn or winter is high

if you have a standard (manual) instert the key then turn it to the start point but before you turn it all the way then push down on the clutch turn the key and the engine should strart if not you probably don't have enough voltage on your car battery charge the battery then turn on the car and let it run if you don't have enough gas drive to the closest gas station while carring your car battery charger and fill the car with gas charge the battery and run the car for about 10 minutes and it should solve it or go to a car key expert to check the car key chip. I think you got hold of a batch of stale gasoline, have seen it many times. This happens this time of year because they are using up all the winter blend gas so they can switch to the summer blend..

what you realy need to do is check your fuel pressure. it sound like a fuel pressure regulator . but ive also seen a dirty fuel system and defective fuel pumps do the same thing.
