SOURCE: 2005 VW Jetta TDI Wagon: Left brake light doesn't

Very difficult. You have to open the inside access door on the drivers side, remove the amp and wheel well cover, pinch the tabs and the bulb cluster will release. The taillight assembly is bolted from inside of the car, so it can't be done outside.

SOURCE: I cannot even see how

On your 2006 Jetta there is a hinged "door" inside the trunk to allow access to the tail light assembly.

There are 2 black plastic tabs at the bottom of the assembly that you push up on and the whole assembly comes out. Note that this assembly is reinserted by putting the 2 small tabs at the top of the assembly back into the fixture first then rotating the bottom half down until it snaps into place. There are 2 bulbs (same part number) that are both the turn signal and brake light (both lights on for brake). Phillips P/N 12498 (21watt). Sylvania P/N 7506 (LL). They are $3.80 each at dealer.

I have both my lowbeams not working in my 2012 VW Jetta S. I checked the bulbs and both look good. I need to check the fuse but can't locate a diagram. Any help with a diagram?

Most auto headlamps are powered via an automatically resetting circuit breaker. Location varies per vehicle - some have it in the light switch, others in the fuse box and others still - elsewhere. Check the DC voltage at the low beam power socket. If present - the bulbs only "look" good - but really aren't.

If no power, you'll have to trace wires or get a manual to help you locate the low beam circuit. This can be tedious, time consuming work. Good luck!

If both my regular headlight bulb and high beam head light bulb on a 2009 VW Jetta are both burned out and I only replace the regular bulb and not the high beam, should the regular highlight bulb stil

no --there are two separate light power systems for the bulbs but a shared earth wire. Bulbs blow from power fluctuations that occur from loose earth wires, dirty earth points so check the way the bulbs are put back in and ensure that they are tight.
