SOURCE: car died but now starts
Try cleaning the battery cables where they contact the battery. If that doesn't do the trick, most auto parts stores wil ltest your battery for free. Do both first before lookng into the charging system. Alternatively, Place an external battery charger on the battery and charge it up. If that fixes it then test the charging system.

check the safety neutral switch on the transmission as the computer thinks it is in gear. if it is a manual transmission, the clutch interlock could be bad.put the car in neutral if it is an automatic and try it....still no? crank it over and have someone bang on the starter.it is on top of the transmission on the drivers side.the starter could have a dead spot

Yellow dashboard light: If the light is shaped like a triangle with an apostrophe, then there is likely an issue with your Automatic Stability Control or Automatic Braking System.
This can also be caused by a wheel speed sensor. It is highly recommended that you take the vehicle to your dealer as this is a safety related issue.
Regarding the "skunky smell" (sulfur dioxide, rotten eggs):
If not related to the in-dash lights, then I suspect the engine is running too rich. Check the oxygen sensor signal to the ECU to determine if it is switching normally. The engine has to run a while to get the catalytic converter hot enough to function properly. If the O2 sensors on either side of the converter is getting a bad signal, then the engine will burn too rich and eventually clog the converter.
Just about any autoparts store can read the problem code for free so just drop by one and let them give you the code, then let us know what you find.
Please let me know if this helps.
