Did you scan your vehicle for any fault codes using an OBD scanner? The sensor that feeds your clusters may be faulty. Does the needle go back down when you shut the car off?

Without testing we'd only be guessing . Hooking up a factory or a professional type scanner , an checking engine sensor data parameters , checking fuel pressure an flow , basic electrical system testing - battery condition , charging system output testing etc.... GM did have instrument cluster problems , late 90's - mid 2000's . Stepper motor's inside the cluster that drive the gauge needles , an silver migration . Can cause all kind of electrical issues , battery draining over night , starting problems ,warning lights coming on etc....

Maybe the speed sensor that is feeding the cluster if faulty? Do you have an OBD scanner that can check for any fault codes being thrown on the vehicle?

Two possibilities, the speed sensor on the transmission or the stepper motor that drives the speedometer in the cluster. Is your cruise control working? If it is, then the problem is with the cluster.

What would make a speed odometer not to work?

Two possibilities, speed sensor on transmission or a bad stepper motor in the instrument cluster. Does your cruise control work? If it does, then the speed sensor is OK and the problem is with the stepper motor in the cluster that drives the speedometer.

2004 Chev Trail Blazer, driving down the road going 55 the speedometer might read 100, or stopped it might read 60. Do you have any idea what it might be?

The problem is a bad stepper motor in the instrument cluster, these motors drive all the gauges in the cluster and are none to fail. There are repair services on Ebay that repair the clusters.

I have a 2004 Chev Trailblazer and the instrument cluster the back lights work but the instruments don't, the fuses are good, sometimes after driving it for 15 or 20 minutes and shutting it off and...

This is very common, in fact GM issued an extended warranty on the gage clusters from 2003-2005. Unfortunately the extended warranty has expired. The cluster either needs to be replaced or rebuilt. I know there are several companies that specialize in rebuilding them, but it takes 3-5 days and the vehicle is not drivable during that time and the repair is not cheap. I just checked and there is one on e-bay for $90 that may work for you.
