There is a manual that came with your car. Not the owner's manual, but a supplemental manual for the radio. The code is listed on a sticker there with the radio serial number. If you don't have that, there's a chance the dealer will have the radio code. Call and talk to the service dept at your local dealer. Give them the VIN and they might have it on file. For a 1998, chances are slim, though. Good luck.

The only way to get the code if you don't have the manual is to call the dealer as I mentioned above. The code is listed nowhere else. If the dealer doesn't have it, you need to replace the radio, unfortunately.

I found the code but the problem is that the screen is still number 2 radio and safe how to proceed now to establish the radio code for activation

  • 16VJohn Oct 16, 2013

"SAFE" means you entered the wrong code. To get the numbers to appear again so you can enter the code again, you need to press and hold three keys in this order 1) SEEK 2) SCAN> 3)

I need system reset codes for 2005 Chevy Equinox. Car is fine, radio fine, just need to reset OS to factory specs so radio will play. Has been checked by three different shops

You need to input the radio code to get it to play. Take it to the dealership parts counter and they can get it for free. It has a theft lock so if the battery is disconnected you need to input the code.

I cant find my radio pin code cd3xx-cdi-iland-kw2000

Go online and search sites that offer the codes. (Search "Ford Focus radio code") If you enter your radio serial and other details. For a few bucks they will sell you the factory code

Accidentally drained battery, jump started, works fine now, battery tested fine, but radio won't come back on?

When the battery was down or removed the radio was reset and since this is done for secuirty the codes must be entered on the panel for the radio to be active. Please check the manuals for the codes or call your dealerships.

Our van's radio and cigarette lighter (same front panel) quit working today. Brought it to Advance auto who said the fuses were fine, battery is fine, alternator is fine. The radio screen is not where we...

The owners manual has the fuse diagrams. The Radio code is there so if anyone steals your radio, it is inoperative, so it takes out the incentive to steal it. There is a box under the hood.
