did you read the full ford tranny FSM on topic>?
id bet its way more complicated than you suspect.
as are all A/T ,
can be a bad 10 o-ring, or weak pump, or bad valve . or pressure reg. the FSM shows a (main for car) shows a whole bunch of on car test why not do them.
1:ATF level at spec, filter clean.
2: check pump pressure.?+

your tranny is craping out, i had a 96 with the exact problem, the fix was to replace it, and at the point that i took it in it couldnt even be refurbished.

What transmission is this? AOD, AODE, 4R70W? Did you use the right fluid? AOD/AODE uses Mercon (although with a full fluid flush you can use Mercon-V with a ****** oil cooler), and the 4R70W uses Mercon-V. Do you have a ****** oil cooler? Why'd you have to use conditioner?
