Put new radiator in car, have no heat and car runs hot,still over heatin but fluid level up also battery died to what can I do to solve this headache please help

I have fiat uno petrol 1999 model.after i reached 20th kms car engine temperature is showing high level and car automatically off. radiator cleaned and serviced, but still not yet solve this problem.

Common headache ,refill reserve tank and leave cap off ,then restart vehicle with the heat on high and wait until fans come on. You probably just have air in the system which isn't allowing thermostat to open up. Once fans come on you should see coolant level lower and just add additional antifreeze then close cap it shouldn't over heat anymore

The most common overheating problem with the Northstar engine is a blocked purge line(small hose).The purge line is designed to purge air out of the cooling system.
There is a small diameter hose coming from near the top of the coolant tank (not the cap) ,this is the purge line.
With the engine idling,pull the purge line from the tank,if there is no coolant flow from this small hose,it is blocked and this will cause overheating.
If the hose is clear, check for blockage at the nipple on the tank.Or trace the hose back until you find the blockage.
The hose goes in to the engine to a crossover and comes out the other side close to the thermostat housing,the blockage may be there.

Heat not getting hot in passenger area and engine overheats


Sounds like you have a failing thermostat. However this can also be caused by a low fluid level in the radiator. When the engine is "completely" cold check the level of the fluid. Even if the overflow tank has fluid the radiator may not. Often the heater core is actually above the level of the top of the radiator and the fluid needs to be pumped UP to reach that level. If the radiator is not completely full then an air gap forms creating the lack of heat inside the vehicle.

There is a air pocket in the heater core, you just didn't burp it right.

Try this

  1. Open the hood of your car. Secure the hood with the safety handle. If you have a newer car, you should have a bleeder valve on the front of your radiator. Check in your owner's manual for the location of this valve. If you do start your car, open the valve with wrench and let your car heat up. The excess air will bleed out of your cooling system. Keep your car on long enough to give the (trapped air) time to bleed out of your system.
  2. Let your car cool down. Once the car is cool, take off the radiator cap. Did the level of the radiator fluid go down? If it did, it means you bled the air out of your cooling system. Replace the radiator fluid, turn on the car, and let it run. Replace radiator fluid as needed.
  3. Step 3 (above) is the way you will remove air from your cooling system if you do not have a bleeder valve on your radiator. You will leave the cap off the radiator. You will run your car until it heats up. As the air dissipates, the radiator fluid level will go down. You will fill up your radiator fluid to the correct level. Be careful because the heated radiator fluid will be hot. Always wear leather gloves and safety goggles when working on your radiator.
  4. Once the air dissipates and you fill the fluid, shut off the car. Let the car cool down. Once the car is cool, put the radiator cap back on the radiator. You may have to put more radiator fluid in the radiator. The level may fall as the car cools down. Now it is safe to drive your car. You have removed the trapped air from your cooling system.
Tips:
Always wear gloves and safety goggles when working on your radiator.
Radiator fluid gets very hot when heated.
Check radiator fluid periodically.

I would start by checking the fluid to make sure it's at the proper level, Then check to see if the thermostat is opening like it should. If you have good flow and you get heat inside the car but the car still overheats I think I'd be checking for blown head gaskets and head warp.

How do I bleed the radiator in my C70 Volvo ? you can bleed a radiator in a C70 , rite ?..


  1. This method works best if the nose of the car is raised as high as possible. Park your car in your driveway. Let your car cool down. When your car is cooled down, you are ready to work on the cooling system.

My heater won't stay hot just cool air put a new thermostat what could it be


did you check the fluid level in the radiator? The radiator guy in my town told me that when the water gets low, you loose your heat because the water level goes below the heater level so it can't heat your car. (call the radiator shop and ask about this and they can explain it better for you and it doesn't cost just to ask a question.) Also, it could be your heater core.

Car is running quietly. Checked water, no leaking. Running very hot


If it isn't over-heating don't worry too much just make sure all your fluids are topped up.
If it does over heat, check the tester cap in the radiator for green fluid and your coolant bottle level. Because if the radiator isn't leaking, you've got yourself a head gasket on its last legs.

My car is running hot do u think i need to change the motor?


buy a radiator flush kit, some prestone flush additive, and even maybe a new thermostat, and a simple haynes manual for your auto. The manual will tell you where and how to change the thermostat, and how to drain the radiator, and how much radiator fluid you will need. The flush kit will instruct you where to put the flush fitting.
Remove the thermo, flush the motor, install new thermo and gasket. Add radiator fluid, done. This should solve your over heating probs. Don't let it over heat! You can cause major probs then.

You could always take it to a shop and pay the $200 to do it for you. My way would cost you less than $50.

My 91 Chevy s 10 Blazer over heats in addition to check gauges light coming on what could be the problem?


There are 4 things you want to check in this order.
1. Make sure your fluid level is up to specifications.
2. Make sure the fluid is travelling through the radiator freely(water pump).
3. Make sure your thermostat is opening. This requires a great deal of caution, leave the radiator cap open (if it has one) and run the engine until the top radiator hose gets hot, If you have no radiator cap, watch for water rising or dropping in the overflow tank.Also watch for bubbles within the overflow or radiator.Also put all temp controls on high on the climate control center and feel for hot air once the engine reaches operating temperature(185-200 degrees). If you don't get heat within the regular time slot of 10-15 minutes you will need a new thermostat.
4. If you discover a large amount of bubbles within the radiator or the overflow tank than you've got a headgasket situation and should not drive the vehicle until necessary repairs are made. Thank you, Dana

Do you have enough antifeeze in your cooling system. If not fill & check again for heat. You may have a blockage. If so remove the in & out hoses to the heater core on firewall. Be careful not to damage core. Use a garden hose to flush the core one side to the other untill running clear water. put one hose on tight & clamp, put other on loose. Have someone start engine & slowly remove loose hose to let air escape. when fluid appears put hose on & tighten. Refill rad & resevoir. Heat engine up & check for heat. Also heat cable may be off under dash.
