SOURCE: 1996 ignition switch-what wires to check power on

ignition switch may be worn or a loose exciter wire [to starter] thats the small terminal on starter motor you can bridge it to the posative [power] on the starter it should start!
if it does start just work back from there to ignition look for broken or loosse connection
if that all is ok it will need ignition switch

SOURCE: what else do i need

There isn't much to a tuneup now days, I wouldn't even bother with plugs and wires unless it needed it. The basic tune up is an oil change, air filter, check all fluids, brake pads, hoses, any thing that needs attention. I don't think I have changed plugs in 10 years, or wires for that matter. And I am driving a 94. Hope this helps.

2000 pontiac montana - brake lights stay on - all wires disconnected from switches at pedal

Maybe a problem with electrical connector that allows org wire to short to whit wire? The org wire is hot all the time, the whit wire becomes hot and carries voltage for brake lamps when switch is activated. Maybe whit wire is shorted to voltage, somewhere else. If you pull the stop lamp fuse, does it kill the brake lamps?

Both rear blinkers are not working on 99 Tahoe. Right went out and about a weak later left went out. Replaced both bulbs, worked for a minute with engine not running, drove it once and they stopped.

seems like thers tu much current burning the bulb--may be a module issue or othr electric gadget--the fuse may be frying too-test that pathway with a light--its labeld on the box--the ignition switch on steering colum is complex with wires also-gonna need a specialist eithr way

Replace ignition wires 1993 cadillac deville

Not sure I understand the question.
If you are replacing the switch and the wiring plug you would splice the wires together.
Do you need the diagram for the switch ?

Have a 99 vw passat 1.8 ,the car was working fine but now i have a big problem whit the stater..i cant shut it off... is like if the starter is conected direct to yhe batery, the only way to stop the...

There are two wires to the starter motor. One wire is big as a battery cable for power to the motor to work, the power circuit. The other wire is small as a speaker wire for signal to activate the motor action, energiz
You need to check first that the small wire is not staying energized. Disconnect it from the starter motor solenoid. Connect the battery as normal. The starter motor should not do anything. This means the control wire is staying energized, if it is staying energized that circuit needs to be tested back to the ignition switch, the ignition switch may be shorted or defective. A 12 volt test lamp or volt meter may be used for testing for power or energized condition.

Having problems with 99 regal passkey lock. its getting worse fast. it had a new ignition key tumbler 2 years ago but i dont know if they changed the passkey wire can i bypass it?

yes you can, fist locate the wire that goes to the key resistance, you are going to bypass it whit the resistence of a ignition wire, cut the wire in difrent lengts less than a foot, this makes difrent resistence values, put them to the wire on the car to find the one that will ignite the car.
