If you buy platinum plugs, which is all that should be run in that car, then the gap is set and you should not gap them differently. Gapping platinum plugs can knock the small platinum slug out of the plug. Just buy the right ones a and put them in.

I had a cylinder 5 misfire on my 2002 chevy Camaro v6 3.8. I changed the spark plugs and the spark plug wires and the car runs great, until i give it alot of gas. If i accelerate too quickly now the car...

sounds like spark plug coil is bad. had the same problem on my truck also. check wich cylinder is misfiring and replace the coil and maybe the plug also. if the plug looks good leave it. autozone can give you a read out. when checking the coil, if it has a rust color to it its bad and needs to be replaced. 02 z28

Changing plugs/wires made engine worse.

you shouldnt have to gap the plugs buy the pre-gapped bosch plugs i use them in all my z's If it sounds like your going 90mph but only going 30, check the catalic converter....If its not that( if its glowing red after driving for 20mins, or when you smack it with a hammer and it sounds like a rock its bad) It could be a timming issue or a distributer/ rotor/cap issue....Is it manual or auto.Is the check eng light on?
