Make sure all the caliper slides are free from rust and make sure they are lubed. It sounds like the caliper isn't floating on the bracket.

SOURCE: New brakes needed on 2005 TSX with 23K miles

Thats low mileage for an 05...congrats. It is also way way low to be needing rear brakes!!!, The front brakes ALWAYS need replacement before the rear, unless you have a malfunction...or have been driving with the emergency brake on, (the emergency brake just works on the rear). Also, unless the brakes have been metal on metal, no way you should need new rear rotors with that mileage...I realize you trust your dealer, but, I'd get a 2nd opinion. As for the driving, sure, driving habits have a bearing on brake wear, and yes, you have probably done alot of stop and start, but probably at low speeds also. At any rate, you should not be replacing rear pads and certainly not rotors with 23K...unless there is another problem..Hope this helps!

My 2007 dodge magnum r/t will 23k miles ebrake sometimes sticks , how do I fix ?

The cables by the rear brakes are probably corroded up. Either use a lot of penetrating oil and work with them to free up, or replace the cables.

What can i use to keep my breaks from sticking? i put on new break pads and they are still sticking.please help me.

your brake caliper or calipers, may be sticking.when you drive it at night, for say 10 miles, then look at the fronf wheels,do you see a fire red glow behind the wheel on the brake caliper.? easy way to tell.jack the car up with the emergency brake on. pump the brakes with engine running, with the transmission in neutral? can you spin the tires by hand? if not, then you have a sticking brake caliper, which will burn the brakes up fast.eventually, the brake caliper will "lock" and then you will not be able to move the car in any gear.if you suspect bad brake caliper, replace both front brake rotors and calipers with new brake pads. easy way to eliminate the brake problems.if you replace the brake calipers and pads only.the rotors may still be warped due to all the heat that occured with the bad brake calipers. you will have a bad steering wheel vibration when braking otherwise. thank you,for choosing fixya.com!

Ave developed a loud humming type sound from the rear wheels of a 2007 Tucson. It seems to happen after driving several miles and is constant except when I touch the brake pedal when it momentarily stops....

Rust can build up in the rear calipers between the bracket and pad. This causes the outside pad to stick. When 15,30,45,60k etc services are done at a dealership, cleaning the rear brakes is a normal part of the service.

1998 4runner(limited)148k miles.left rear tire locks up,then rolls????parking break is not engaged,

if its rear drum brakes, you probably have a sticking wheel cylinder. or a brake adjuster that's adjusted too tight. If its four wheel disc brakes it's probably the emergency brake cable/ tension mechanism not releasing.

07 Ford Traction Control

2 wheel drive refers to the rear wheels.
The traction control feature applies the brakes to the wheels that are spinning due to lack of traction so that they can slow down and get a grip or traction, if its in 2 wheel drive the system will pulse the brakes and you will hear and feel the system engage usually a buzzing vibration and an indicator light will come on the dash to tell you its engaged

Humming form the rear tyres, I have had them swapped over but the problem still persists. Water leaking into the boot lid, the rear integral lights have been changed under warrenty but this has not solved...

hi, can't help with the tyres but might be able to with the water in the boot as my 99 A4 does the same, after hours of standing in the rain i found it was getting in behind the rear window, behind the bottom cornors of the rear window is a join and on mine looks like they have not be filled properly leaving a hole so the water runs down the side of the window seapping behind the black trim (these are just for apperance they dont hold the window in) then down the side of the glass till it reaches thease holes and into the boot. on mine i pulled the black trim pices out and filed the holes with sealer and put the trim back in so it never notiecs, but you probably won't want to do this on a one year old car, so i'd say back to audi with it, hope this helps

1993 Mercedes Benz 300E, right rear squeak

Common causes for High-pitched noise from rear wheels are:

The wheel bearing: this is not usually dangerous in the short term, but I recommend contacting a mechanic and having it fixed. To test the wheel bearing, you lock front wheels, and jack up the car rear and spin the wheel (handbrake unlocked). If bearing is worn you hear a drone. When is the bearing, often car starts vibration above 40 mph.
Noise from bearing can be continuous, intermittent, only when steering, only when hot.

The brake pads: when brake pads are worn out they start making a squealing noise, in this case the noise is only when you brake or continuous. When you jack up the car the wheel may be a little stiff, but not necessarily. When brake pads are completely gone you also hear a scratching noise when braking. Inspect your brakes immediately.

Other suspension problems: Jack up the car as suggested above, check if the wheel has a slight play on the sides. Check all of the suspension components, suspension mounting points, and steering linkage for damage. Also, check the frame rail for wrinkles. It is very important that these components be in good condition, if you notice any problem here, go immediately to a mechanic.

Try doing the simple test above, reinstalling the wheel and working the tire back and forth. This is a common test for bad ball joints and wheel bearings.
