SOURCE: my fuse panel diagram for my 1998 honda civic dx is missing.

according to this it's 10A and in the first row by the hinges...be sure to look at the picture for correct placement. Since it's a 10Amp between a 15 and 20 you should be able to spot it right off...

here ya go

If the there are no blown fuses in your in-cab fuse box look under the hood for the fuse box there. I know that on a 1996 civic the fuse is under the hood (7.5) for the cigarette lighter, clock and radio.

2000 year honda civic cigarette lighter not working

check the power in the lighter socket or the charger which is a small transformer has not failed . Try it in another car . If it works there then I would suspect a fuse for the lighter if there is no power there.. Make sure that the adaptor plug is tight as the 2 bars on the side are the earth for the adaptor and if not tight then there may be no earth . Use a flat bladed screw driver and bend the bars out a bit to increase tension in the socket.

My employers 1998 Honda Civic's cigarette lighter socket rotates in the panel. How do I tighten it up again?

i feel the pain on the lax maintenance issue. there should be two tabs on either side of the receptacle. if too much weight is administered in one direction, one of these tabs will break, causing the orientation issue you are talking about. the plastic around the outlet should have reliefs for these tabs as well. it may be easier to remove the socket if the panel its installed into is taken out. its easier to get out from the back, im sure.

Honda civic Cigar lighter not working hondA civic all fuses ok

If the cigarette lighter is the ONLY thing that is not working. Either the wires have been disconnected or the coil is broken. Test the socket with a multimeter. If you have voltage and this checks out, Chances are the lighter itself (the coil) is damaged and should be replaced. If you have no voltage at the socket, the wires are likely corroded or broken somewhere and should be fixed/cleaned/soldered.

you could borrow a friends cig lighter element and try it if it works? then get another element this is the plug /push bit that glows these are pretty universal fit so no need to get from dealers these elements do burn out with constant use try breakers yard ? or swap with permission ! with some none smokers car ?

Honda Accord 2002 Cigarette Ligher socket loose

Some of the cigarette lighters have a threaded outer shell that keeps them in place. If you can follow the wires back from the socket there might be a empty "shell" hanging on the wire. Guide it back up to the socket, and while holding the socket in place tighten the shell around the socket.
