Question about 2006 Pontiac Vibe

1 Answer

Heater fan has only two speeds: off or MAX.

My heater fan/blower (behind the glove box) is either off or max. There are no other speeds any more. Is this easy to fix?

Yes it is an easy fix, you need to change the fan resistor here is a link to change it. Its about $40.00 at the dealer and its really only 2 bolts.

2000 malibu blower wont run on hi will run on 1-4 what could be my problem?

usually its the fan resistor causing this. it is located behind glove box on top of heater box, beside the fan. the resistor has differant size wires for differant fan speeds. if a wire in resistor is bad. that fan speed will fail. when fixing, the best way is to remove glove box so you dont have to stand on your head to work on it. have a good day !!

We have a 2002 jeep liberty. The heater and defrost only works sometimes what are some possible causes.

If you mean that the heater "fan" only works sometimes, there is heater blower resistor mounted to the heater motor, (behind the glove box) and if it goes bad, you normaly have high speed only. These are common to go bad, and not expensive.

Where is the blower fan moduel is it hard to get to

It is under the dash behind the glove box. It is not real hard. Remove the glove box, remove the lower instrument panel brace, remove the heater motor/A/C hose, disconnect the connector from the blower motor assembly, (If equipped, disconnect the A/C blower motor speed control electrical connector) remove the screws holding the blower assembly to the heater/A/C housing, remove blower assembly. Reverse order to install.

2005, Grand marquis, aircondition works on max or regular AC setting, but fan only works on the highest setting, will not work on slower fan speeds

this is a smiple repair, replace the blower motor resistor, this is what controls the lower speeds and is very common, the resistor is locate in the heater box next to the blower motor.

Hi i hear a ticking coming from behind the glove box, i tried turning every thing off, it still ticks till i turn the car off

It may be the heater blower fan. It is always on when the car is running. I'm pretty sure the blower is under/behind the glove box.
Does the ticking noise change when you speed-up or slow the fan speed? If so, there may be a leaf or something stuck in the fan blades. You might have to have the blower motor removed to get it cleaned out.
Hope this helps...

Where is the heater resistor switch for a 1995 gmc sierra

Its located behind glove box on top of heater just to the left of blower motor. If you take off the glove box door ( glove box and door one unit) you will see it on top of heater box.

AC & Heater Fan on fast spped only

Most of the time this is a bad "blower motor resistor". It is easy to replace. You will find your behind the glove box in the ac/heater (evaporator) housing. Below is a pic of the resistor as it is seen from behind the glove box. 1. resistor assembly. 2. harness 3. fasteners (2). 4. lower edge of glove box. (open).
