Question about Cars & Trucks
When starting my car it will not idle, I hold my foot to the floor and it will only just rev. It wont give me enough power to even drive. I didnt have a problem until a couple weeks ago when i almost ran the tank dry. I am thinking it is a fuel pump problem, could this be right? If so, where do i find the fuel pump and is it hard to replace?
a 6ya Mechanic can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

i see, we ask for help and you want to charge us for it. But if we have solved the problem, you want us to tell you how we did it. Well my time is valuable too, i figure it took me about three hours to figure out the problem and fix it, at my hourly rate of $100 an hour, yes i am a business executive that works on his own cars, it will cost you $300 for the answer.

You need to loosen three (1,3, and 5 are the easiest to get to) of the injector lines at the cylinder head with a 19 mm wrench. Have someone crank the motor until you see fuel come out. Immediately start to tighten the lines, while the motor is still cranking. The motor will start to catch as the lines get tightened. Let it run a few minutes to eliminate the rest of the air.
I've had to do this several times on my 99 Ram because of a messed up sending unit telling me I still had a half tank.
The mechanics at Mt. Clemens Dodge taught me this. Good Luck.
