There should be a tool attached to the fuse panel for pulling the fuse (it looks like a big pair of plastic tweezers) if not carefully use a pair of needle nose pliers. check the diagram on the fuse panel for correct amperage and replace with proper fuse. if fuse goes out again check starter relay for fault (sometimes the relay is under hood sometimes its near fuse flock it will be a square block about 1 in by 1 in and have a 3 -4 pront connection)

The clicking noise is what you hear when your battery voltage is way too low and the solenoid won't close fully or your starter won't throw it's gear over far enough. Clean your battery connections. charge the battery and see if it stays fine. If not it is time for a new battery and a new voltage regulator. (since you never change one without the other) Verify that the belt is tight on your alternator and that the brushes in it are new.

You need squeaky clean, tight battery connections and starter motor connections since you are working with a low voltage system where resistance is a great enemy..

2003 ford expedition wont start and the anti theft light is clicking and flashing fast

Turn your key all the way back towards you in the battery only postion. Then press and hold the red alarm flashing button til you hear the beeping noise it makes. This will disable your alarm and your car will start.

My Van Is not cranking We thought it was the battery but found out that the battery is good. the horn and radio and stuff works but it will not evev try to crank

Are you getting a clicking noise at all? If not, I'd try the starter soleniod. (this is usually the problem - you can take the starter to an advanced auto and they can check it for you to be sure).

Otherwise it's the ignition (where you put your keys in). Sometimes these stop sending the 'start' signal.

The right turn signal lights up but doesn't flash replaced burnt out b ulbs only to have the same thing. There was a sticky substance in the sockets

In or near the fuse box under the dash, is a flasher fuse. It is round and looks more like a relay than a fuse. When you tun your blinker on and hear the clicking noise as it blinks, this fuse is what you hear. When they go bad the blinkers don't blink, try changing it to resolve the problem. To see what it looks like, go down to your local parts store to buy one before looking so you know what to look for.

Gook Luck and thanks for using FixYa!!

My driver side power window is not functioning properly. The window was cracked about an inch. Every time I tried to roll the window up, I would hear a rapid clicking noise coming from somewhere under the...

I would have to think that it is in the window motor itself instead of the fuse. If the fuse was bad the window would not work at all. The mechanism that controls the window in the door is where I would start.

You can hear clicking in both fuse boxes when trying to start car

has the battery been tested? sounds like low battery voltage, the diode would not be the cause most likely.

98 ford windstar has clicking noise under dash and won't start

The clicking noise is most likly the starter solinoid cycling in and out. This is due to low battery voltage. charge the battery, then have the battery and charging system tested. Some auto supply stores will do this for free for you in the hopes of selling parts

good luck

Not starting replaced alt, starter, solenoid, and battery is good

It sounds like the wires from the battery to the starter solinoid are burned out, possibly even more of them to the main fuse box under the hood. You will have to start looking for the burned wires you can already smell and replace them. Starter and Battery area are a good place to start.
