Driver's side power window quit working while down on 2001 Jimmy SLE

You'll need to get into the door panel. It's held together with clips and screws. Find the screws in the arm rest or ? remove the screws and starting at the bottom, pry the panel away from the door carefully using a wide screw driver or ? once removed, yoll see that the window is inside the door reinforcement. It generally runs on a rail, under which is a scissors lifting arm. Sometimes the window detaches from the metal rail and can be epoxied if its loose. Use a good '5 minute epoxy' from an auto parts store, mixed well and using a popsicle stick, mix two parts together well and smear onto the metal rail which is under window assembly. Let it sit for awhile, usually 24 hrs, until well hardened. This might fix it forever. But NOW, you will have to reassemble the door panel, pressing the clips in place and replacing ALL screws that you removed. This is not the only way, but the quick and dirty way! It usually works in cases where the window bottom has separated from the scissors rail.......Cheers

I have a 1995 Dodge Dakota and I need to know how to remove the driver side door glass. thanks .

First take off the inside panel. It usually has on or two screws and tree plugs that allow you to pop the rest off the panel off carefully. Once you get it almost off if you have powered windows and locks you have to disconnect them from the power source with the connection you'll see inside the door panel. After the panel is removed lower the window to where you can see the bottom of the glass through the openings in the door. Two people is better for this job. you need one to pull on glass from the top the other to hold onto the window regulator (this is what the window fits into looks like a scissor lift. Pull glass till it is free on both sides. Now tilt the glass sideways and remove it from the inside of the door carefully it is a tight fit but it does come out. Remember how you take it out because that is the way it has to go back in the same way. Happy Motoring!!!!

The drivers side window will not open or close, all other windows work okay

does it seem like the switch is bad, you should hear it working? If you do hear it working, there is a spring clip on the bottom of the window that bolts the window to the scissor (up and down) mechanism inside the door panel. You'll need to replace the whole window which is quite simple for most.

remove all inner door trim, and inner window trim, release 2 nylon blocks on top of window scissors and slide window up and out, on outside remove plastic handle trim and undo large nut round doorlock, on edge of door pop out plastic plug and undo coonecting rods, inside door at front of handle is a little cir clip holding a pin through handle, remove both, you should now be able to wriggle handle out to the inside of the car remember to watch for wires to micro switch for cental locking, rebulild is a reveral of this.

Passenger window- about 1/3 way down- went to close- hit power button- started up then window fell-

You need to have the power window regulator replaced. Very common in these cars. Its not an easy job. With a good service manual and some patience its not to bad.

Power windows on driver side get stuck when going up

you need to remove the inner door panel and get into the regulator scissors that holds and controls the window height, then clean out the scissors pivots with a degereaser and relube and this will take care of the sticking problem.

Driver side window does not crank up straight

It sounds like the window may have slipped off it's guide rail or support rail. The window base connects to the motor via some bars that resemble a scissor lift.

On the inside trim, you can remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. Pull back the weather seal and you'll be able to get to everything

Replace glass, drivers door on 1997 GMC 1/2 ton Truck ,2wd, Power windows

The door panel is held onto the door with clips but first you need to remove the screws from the grab handle on the door panel. then pop the bezel off around the inside door handle. very carefully!!! then using a clip tool pry off the peice that covers the rear view mirror nuts and pry gently all the way around the door panel until its loose then lift it up slightly to unseat the window channel strip off the door, then unhook your wires. As for the window roll it up, tape it to the door then line up the 2 10mm bolts that clamp it to the regulator with the provided holes in the door, loosen 'em up roll the regulator down and remove the window. Have fun guys!!!

The front guide (that is attached to the window and slides into the regulator) has probably come off or is lose. These are glued to the window and hard to get to. Best advise is to remove the window, re-glue, then replace window in the regulator guides.

The regulator is the scissor mechanism that raises and lowers the window.
