My 04 Chevy Monte Carlo Has a check engine Light on..I place it on The Obd2 ..But No codes are showing...What could it be.. I thought maybe start with the Plugs..

Start with a proper diagnostic scan using a quality scan tool. Cheap scan tools may not communicate with the various modules in the vehicle and therefore will not display a code. Don't toss parts unnecessarily at the vehicle until you properly scan and retrieve the stored codes and then repair from there

2006 gmc canyon will not go into 4 wheeldrive after 5 minutes of driving

The first place to start is have it checked for codes an to see if a scan tool will communicate with the 4X4 control module !
Diagnostic Starting Point - Transfer Case
Begin the system diagnosis with the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle . The Diagnostic System Check will provide the following information:
The identification of the control module or modules that command the system.

The ability of the control module or modules to communicate through the serial data circuit.

The identification of any stored diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) and the status of the codes.

The use of the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle will identify the correct procedure for diagnosing the system and where the procedure is located.
Install a scan tool.
Does the scan tool power up?
Go to Step 3
Go to Scan Tool Does Not Power Up

  1. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  2. Attempt to establish communication with all of the control modules on the vehicle. Refer to Scan Tool Does Not Communicate with Class 2 Device for the modules you should expect to observe.
Does the scan tool communicate with all of the expected vehicle control modules?
If you don't have a scan tool that will communicate with all modules on the vehicle or understand this , your best bet is to take it to a ASE certified repair shop or the dealer .

I have 2000 Chrysler town and country van that as your driving the engine will cut off. So far I have replaced the ignition wires, the spark plugs, the fuel filter and I have had fuel injection servic

You installed parts & asked for various services to be done

What you failed to do, was testing required to find your vehicle

Most likely, unless your way behind or never do any Preventative
Maintenance, you didn't need all that was done,at least to fix the
cutting off issue

Have to check for OBD Codes, road test with scan tool, look
at data & component test, to find problems, not replace parts
in a wish & hope strategy

1987 Subaru EFI I replaced the fuel pump with a after market pump, engine starts will not idle,to keep running I must constantly pump gas pedal

The vehicle should be scanned for trouble codes, because there are a few sensors that could be causing the problem. If you do not know how to retrieve the codes, take the vehicle to Auto Zone or Advance Auto for the scan. They charge very little or nothing for the scan. If trouble codes do come up, it will give you an idea of what sensor may be failing.

Engine light stays on codes PO521 and PO523

Both codes are for a problem with the oil pressure sensor. The sensor and circuit would need to be checked.

2005 Ford Escape XLT sputtering. Replaced spark plugs as codes said. The check engine light does NOT come back on. No codes to read. I've done some research and there seem to be a few common answers....

Replaced spark plugs as codes said. ???? What code ? No code tells you to replace anything with testing . Hooking up a scan tool checking checking engine sensor data pid's . If you don't know this your best bet would be to take your vehicle to a qaulified repair shop . You could have a bad sensor , Mass air flow , a bad coolant temp sensor . Fuel system problem , fuel pressure an flow testing should be done . What are the O2 sensors doing ? are they switching from 0.2 to 0.9 millivolts ? What the fuel trims at ? Is the computer adding or subtracting fuel ?

047 Engine Hard to Start or No Start Scan Data for Ignition
048 Engine Hard to Start or No Start Scan Data for Starting Problems
There is a lot involved in diagnosing these computer systems , and guessing doesn't fix vehicle running problems .

first up get advice from accredited professionals--relations are seldom qualified to help
have the fault codes read to determine where the faults are to eliminate guessing and wasting money
ECM rarely go bad but the CPU program can be corrupted from removing the battery or letting it sit flat battery
That problem can be fixed using the same scan tool the reads the fault codes
