How do I safely replace fuel injectors on a 96 Toyota Camry

Jonathan: The real question is why would you want to do that? If it is leaking, you have no choice, but if semi clogged, I would go to Advanced Auto and buy their super fuel injector cleaner called something like KX44. Here are instructions on how to change out the fuel injectors: and here is a YouTube video of how to do it:

As for safety, since it is full of fuel, do not smoke and keep a fire extinguisher handy, however, we have had no problems. Please let me know if I helped you! :)

Code said I my wiring harness and number one & five fuel injectors are not getting a signal. I Replaced injectors and fuel harness. Still getting same ccods. is my ecm is bad, or something else?

Most likely the ECM is bad. Unlikely you got injectors and a harness and still have the same codes. You can't go buy any ECM. ECM's have to be matched by numbers and year/s. And have to be programmed to the car. Do some research on them.
Just a note... Find some one that does this kind of work. You are replacing good parts and paying to have it done. You will be money a head.

2000 Dae Woo Lanos 1.5L keep getting a DTC Code P0304 cylinder 4 misfire got new plugs and wires? Could be my O2 sensor or something to do with my Fule Filter. Thanks please Help!

It could be a fuel injector or a bad cylinder. A bad cylinder is easy enough to figure out with a compression tester. A and fuel injector can be swapped with another cylinders injector to see if the misfire follows the injector.

What would cause a 1996 chevy k3500 not to start.i was drivin it an filled up with fuel took off an almost got home an it died it started an i drove it on home backed in the drive way it died again an aint...

was told it was injectors ????? We don't go by what someone told us . We use wiring diagrams , test electrical circuits using a DVOM - digital volt ohmmeter , do fuel pressure an flow testing . If you don't know how ,you should take it to a qualified repair shop that does.

I have a 1994 s10 2.2 its got a major miss i cant find out ive done a plugg change 2 times plug wires 2 times. ive done compression check fuel pressure check. new fuel filter. 1st and 2nd gear sorta runs...

weve had alot of coil packs go bad on that engine and also it could be the ignition control module will lose fire on one side and cause a bad misfire also very important gm had a technical service bulletin on the fuel injectors causing a misfire due to leaking o-rings and injector failure. always make sure you bleed down the fuel pressure from the fuel rail before removing any injectors if you dont it will cause engine damage

Can bad fuel injector damage spark plugs on a 2005 Ford Expedition? and if fuel injectors being replaced should less labor be needed for spark plug replacement?

A bad fuel injector can cause spark plug issues. If the injector does not supply enough fuel, the cylinder(s) without enough fuel will run hot, often damaging the spark plugs.

But your mechanic needs to make sure that the injector is the issue and not a fuel pressure issue from regulator, filter, or pump. Hopefully he/she has already done those checks.

As far as the labor cost being less the spark plugs wouldn't be removed during the fuel injector replacement. Even if they did, most mechanics won't cut the price. But if you are a regular customer it can't hurt to ask.

First I would go ahead and change your fuel filter, I change mine every 50k miles. "Home remedy working with what you have" assuming the fuse and relay are good. Unplug the main wire from the main coil to keep the car from starting as we test the fuel pump and the pressure making sure is working properly. To check and see if you getting any fuel, One way is, under the hood locate the fuel filter, disconect the fuel line from your fuel filter, cover the end of the fuel line with a clothes over the hose and have a friend turn the ignition over couple of times and see if any fuel coming out of the line. Make sure you point the fuel line downward away from your face just in case, otherwise it will squirt and shoot fuel over you. Make sure you also have your finger over top of the hose so you can feel the pressure from the fuel pump. If it weak pressure replace the pump, keep in mine, its 1986 and that is an old fuel pump with high miles. Being 1986 Z car, I would say its the crank sensor is bad although it dont believe it has one but everything is built into the distibutor unit. If you getting good pressure than it could be your fuel regulator and no way of testing it, there are also cheap to replace or your fuel injectors is bad again all injectors cant go bad at the same time unless the car has been sitting in the storage for years. If one goes bad, its best to replace them all. I can see one or two injectors goes bad but your engine should still be running but run rough like missing firing. Every 3 to 4 month with my fill up I always use a can of fuel injectors cleaners add to my gas tank to keep problems free. I have 320k miles car and still have the original injectors although I filled and use 93 octane once a month just to keep everything running smooth. If you get a chance go to a junk yard a pull out couple of relays and see if that will do the trick, don't buy a new one, its stupidly expensive for a relay. If you doing your own repair I recommend you purchase Haynes auto repair book, great tools to have and instructions with pictures. keep me up to date and I will try to help as much as I can.... good luck.

1994 toyota camry sputters

hi there
sounds like you need a tune up or you need your injectors cleaned
so i will help you clean them with out getting your hands dirty but you need to follow me every step of the way.
first i will give you my tips
  1. get a high quality fuel injector cleaner that you put into your fuel tank
  2. make Shaw you have just under a full tank of fuel
  3. while i never say that one should drive a car like it is a toy you are going to have to do some harsh exhilarating during this
  4. 1000rpm is 1 revs on your dash bored so if i say do 2500rpm it means do 2.5 on your dash (that's only if you dot know what rpm means)
  5. never turn the car off while we do this
  6. please do not speed you put your life and others at risk
  7. please do not drink and drive
OK now for the step by step instructions
  1. have what you need ready to go including the injector cleaner
  2. start your car and let it warm up keep the revs just over 1000 rpm
  3. as the car is running add the fuel injector cleaner
  4. when you have done this i want you to increase the revs to about 2000rpm
  5. keep it like this for about 30 seconds
  6. after the revs are back down to 1000 rpm i want you to get ready to take it for a drive
  7. OK so take it for a light drive around your street keep it very close to home as if your car stops you don't want to have to walk a long way
  8. once you have done this for a while and you feal confident i want you to be a bit quicker in exelarating giving a bit more power remember dont speed
  9. now once you have done this i want you to take her home and let it idle for a bit
cause you need to get ready to go for a long drive
  10. now that you have got to the bathroom and are ready to go i want you to find a nice open road where you can do 60mph
  11. now that you are here i want you to act like ther is a road train in front of you doing 50mph
  12. now i want you to overtake this road train applying full power by pressing fully dont on the gas
  13. once over tiaken slow back down
  14. i want you to do steps 11 to 13 twice at least
  15. now go back home and let me know how it went
now something to remember for alwase
  1. as stated i dont think you should race or rev the motor all the time to high once a month give it a good run this will loosen and clean all the rubbish from the motor and everythink will run freeley like it should
  2. dont drink and drive
  3. dont speed
  4. saty safe on the roads you life is to valued
  5. and let me know all progress as i want to know if it helped as i pout in a lot of time and effort to helping people on this site
stay safe and happy new year

Replacing fuel injector controller

Bobby12300,It has been awhile since i have worked on this car but, if you want it done right away i would suggest going to a pep boys or a auto zone. Asking the clerk for a injector controller layout to which they should be more than happy to help print off the layout. I will keep researching this answer and if i find something i will post it on here. -Thank you
