There is an air line at the rear of the intake check that the pipe is not blocked feeds from the sump breather can block up and make this happen.

If a mouse chewed the wire into you may need to check all the wires. It sounds like you need to check the operation of the idle air control valve and it's wiring circuit. Good fortune!

Do you have the idle speed turned up to keep it from dying? Because it is high. Check engine light on? Have you checked for vacuum leaks at the gasket under the throttle body? How does the car run under acceleration? You might have a worn distributor shaft.
