Question about Kia Sedona
Hi, I have had a Safe Driver unit installed into my 2004 Kia Sedona and now as it has got dark I have noticed that my tails lights, number plate lights, dash board lights and only the front side lights are flickering. When I tried switching on the main headlights, they do not work either. Upon advise, I have taken out the TNS relay until I can get an engineer out to have a look at the car (which will probably cost me a small fortune). Could anybody tell me the likely cause of the flickering of only certain lights and no headlights please?
Flickering lights is mostly down to the alternator. if the engine id not running and it does this then there is a major fault in the electrical wiring. main light not working if it has gas type light with the converter they will only work if there is above 11 volts any low and they will not work stander bulbs will be dim or cut out the engine when they are turn'd on with a faulty altinator.

it is located on the drivers side underneath the van. you have to remove it from the underside of the car. you will need a 17 millimeter socket or wrench. Remove the ground cable before attempting to remove the starter.

Your engine light come's on when your pcm (powertrain control module) senses a problem with the input of one or more of the many sensors on your vehicle, you can retrieve the engine light trouble code with a OBD II diagnostic tool, you can buy one at most auto parts store's, if you don't want to spend the money to buy one some auto part's store's will retrieve the engine trouble code's at no cost, for example auto zone, after retrieving the trouble code it should point you in the right direction for fixing the problem.
hope this was helpful.

chapmnfarm: your head lights use a "2" fuse system.
one for the left and one for the right.
The fuse box you are looking for is under the hood on the passenger's side. It is a black box roughly 8 inches long and 4-5 inches wide. When you remove the cover, you will see fuses and relays. What you are looking for is the section in the box which has a cluster of 7 fuses. 3 in one row and 4 in the other. On the outer parameter are two relays. The fuses you are interested in are located in the row of 4 fuses, with the two closest to the "L" shaped part of the box. Both of those should be 15 amp fuses.
The fuse below those should be a 20 amp which is the lighting switch and the one below it is a 15 amp which is for the interior lights and the clock.
Check your harness grounds in the engine compartment near the area you have the problem. There are ground wires which come out of the harness on both sides of the core support. The wires are black in color and have "EYES" crimped onto the ends of the wires. Both of them will probably be located about 4-6 inches below the upper tie bar on each side of the radiator. Odds are that the eyes will be large enough to pass a 6mm bolt through.
I hope what I have given you will resolve your problem. Lem me know,,good luck>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

The dash lights and tailights are on the same fuse link. everything else will work like brake lights and turn signals but this one fuse causues alot of problems. Sometimes this fuses isnt marked on your cover so you might have to look in the maual to find the right fuse . some will be under the hood some will be under the dash .
Good luck to you all on finding this little fuse hope you find it before the cops pulls out behind you when its dark :)
