Check the connection to the ecu. check the injector relay/ fuel pump relay in engine bay fuse box. was the fuel pump the problem first time round as it could of just been the relay. there is a set of fuses in there to check them.

My truck did this after I replaced the fuel pump. Turned out to Fuel Pressure Regulator. It would crank and crank but never start. It's located underneath the black plastic manifold on the side of the injectors.

Yes it should be 12 volts at the pump. i have had this problem at the shop a couple of times and i replaced the inertia switch and it fixed it. Also check the connector at the inertia switch, there is high resistance in the circuit which is causing the voltage to be low.

My 1998 ford f150 xlt 4x4 V8, engine turns over but will not start, I think the fuel pump fuse is bad,or the reset switch malfunctioned . Any suggestions

What makes you think fuel pump fuse is bad or the reset switch ? ( inertia fuel cut off switch ) Did you test for B+ volt or are you guessing ? Buy yourself DVOM - digital volt ohm meter an test the fuel pump electrical circuit ! Besides fuel there is also an ignition system , is there spark ? There are some good videos on youtube on trouble shooting these systems , also on how to read a wiring diagram ! An you can view wiring diagrams for free at http://bbbind.com/free_tsb.html also check out video on basic electrical systems testing ! Remember, test don't guess !!!!!

I repace fuel pump ,spark plugs, crankshafts,,battery,. stil no start only crank.check for fuel pressure no fuel pressure, also sheck for spark no spark ,no power on coil ether.please help 2002 nissan...

Your first problem is no power to the coil/s. This could be the ignition switch or wiring from there to the coils. With ignition on, you should have 12 volts to the coil/s. The ECM grounds it out with help from the crank sensor. If you turn the ignition switch on and have the dash gauges and hear relays kick in, then check for bad/broken wires. Several things come on while in the run position. Like radio, blower fan, lights/gauges in the dash. If they don't come on, first would be checking the switch, then wires. You need a volt ohm meter, electrical shcematics.

Replace the TCM to fix the converter clutch problem.. The line 12 volt is direct power from the battery and 7 volts out the I am suspicious off as I think that the coil for the relay is partially shorting out to give the 7 volts. As for the other wire 12 volts in would be ok but if there is nothing out unless it is a relay that has not closed because the relay coil has not activated correctly.. Check the readings against a new relay.

A test light connected across the coil primary leads should flash on + off when engine cranks(coil sparks when 12v turned OFF due to collapse of magnetic field). If you get pulsed 12 volts, and no spark from the coil, the coil is bad.If you don't get the pulsed 12 volts, trace back to find out why(the PCM turns the coil ground on and off,12 volts comes from switched IGN source)

Crank over but wont start

First thing I would do is check the basics, verify you have adequate fuel pressure by hooking up a fuel pressure gauge to your fuel rail assembly, next after you have verified thats ok check if you have spark going to your spark plugs, remove one of the spark plugs and hook a spark tester up to the spark plug wire, observe as your cranking the engine around if you see a spark on the tester or not, next if that passes you may have a cylinder compression problem, remove all spark plugs and perform a cylinder compression test, if all the cylinders seem to have low or no compression you have a valve timing issue, check and see if your timing belt is in proper time with the timing marks or if the belt is connected and has not broken, if you have a no spark condition check and verify your ignition module is getting 12 volt battery power with a test light, if you have 12 volts there next look into the crankshaft position sensor make sure the ohm resisitance is within the proper spec for your vehical if thats not correct replace the sensor with a new unit, finally if you find you have no fuel pressure check the fuel pump relay and fuse and verify there both ok if you find these to be both good, you more then likely have a bad fuel pump and that will require removal of the gas tank for further inspection of the pump assembly....

1997 dodge ram won't start. My fuel pump does not run and coil won't spark. Iv'e checked fuses and relays and they look fine. Could a bad fuel pump cause the asd to kill power to the coil?

First check any ignition/fuel related fuses. Check to make sure you have 12 volts coming into the pump and coil. If nothing to the fuel pump replace the fuel pump relay - if you do have power to the fuel pump then replace the pump. If nothing is coming to the coil it is either an ignition relay or a wiring issue. If you have 12 volts to the coil but no spark then replace the coil.
Also the fuel pump/relay would not kill the coil.
