What's your question? hi, my 1988 vw fox won't start on its own, it only starts when I jumb it from the battery to the solenoid. what may be the problem?

Wiring, connections or ignition/starter switch.

I would probably begin at the switch. Sometimes the switch is ok just the drive from the steering lock is worn and there isn't enough rotary motion to turn the switch enough to engage that last position.

I lost the ignition key to my 93 volkswagon fox gl. What can I do?

If you have a local dealer visit them with your VIN and a certificate of title/ownership. They should be able to help you.

If not, replacing the ignition should not be difficult. Most auto parts stores sell ignition kits for this very reason.

Ignition/starter failing to engage for multiple turns of key

sounds like the starter has a flat spot on the solenoid. remove and test the starter, replace if necessary.

Won't start

Check ground wire from negative battery terminal to transmission housing. If wire is broken you probably fried your computer and hall sensor

No Spark on 87 vw fox

Your battery could have a dead cell and not be giving a full 12 volts to your engine electrical system.
Hope this helps!
