Hi Andre, I'm AL the owner of Big As Auto Repair in St Charles Mo

I look forward to helping you with your problem.

Andre, the red light you see when it stalls is normal because that light will always be on when the engine is not running. Here's what it sound like you issue is. You could have 2 issues. (1) The most likely is a vacuum leak. Here's how to check it for a vacuum leak. Buy a can of spray carb cleaner, have a friend keep the engine running while you spray around the intake manifold and throttle body. When the engine dies then you have found the area the leak is in. (2) The Idle Air Control Motor could be bad not allowing it to idle up when you stop causing it to die. Have your friend keep the engine running again and tap on the motor with a wrench or something similar, and after tapping it a few time see if it will idle, if it does you need a motor. Temp gauge goes to 0 and check engine light comes on but motor runs good and no overheating

When you run a scan you will get an error code that will report about the Thermostat.

You will need to replace the damaged Thermostat as this will not let the engine run at its optimum capacity because the engine is suppose to keep a set temprature for optimum performance,

Good luck and remember to rate this.

I would check your motor mounts, if your engine is running smooth, the only thing keeping you from feeling engine vibrations are your motor mounts.

"check engine" light keeps coming on, then car stalls. Help!

Sounds like fuel pump related. Check the pump pressure when the car is warm, also replace the fuel filter.
