Question about 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee
I have a 1995 jeep grand cherokee ltd. The dash computer indicator showed a message saying service 4 wheel drive switch, plus it was heating up a lot so I took it to the mechanics, they did a tune up and told me they replaced the switch. While in the shop, I noticed they had a hard time putting in the switch, they explained that it is located at a very difficult (intricate) to reach place, not sure how to explain. Thing is that shortly after the msg started showing up again. I called them up, and the guy said that probably it got loose again. Is what they said accurate? or are they taking me for a ride? lol...Now other thing, the power steering fluid is leaking, and I've noticed that the wheel is getting harder to turn, (and right now I'm short on cash, so I cannot get it fixed right away), as I was checking this site, I noticed that someone owning a similar vehicle commented he'd used Lucas Power stop leak psf. Do you think it would be ok to use that on my vehicle, temporarily, at least until I have the cash next month and I can get it check and replace seals, or whatever service is needed, and possibly find another mechanic? Please help me.
I have used lucas products for some time now, and , depending upon the severity of the leak, and what the actual cause is, It is the only product I have seen that actually works, without causing harm to other components. There is no chemical taht will repair a worn metal part though so eventually the leak must be repaired. No conditioner or sealer will repair a hose leak...so if system is leaking from a hose, don't bother. Hose must be replaced.
If work done by shop did not fix the problem they were supposed to fix, they have to fix it again or give you a refund. If you can't trust them, then yes...find a more reliable shop to do your work.
hope this helps!
