Good idea. Just hook up the scanner and turn the key to on.

As long as the ignition switch is receiving power and sending it out with the key in on-do the dash gauges and warning lights come on, and most importantly does the check engine light from the computer turn on? Then you know the computer is powered, so the scanner should work to retrieve any fault codes.
If no codes are present, and the key switch is working, check all fuses, then start checking for gas to the engine and spark at the spark plugs.

try another key key could be faulty or the ignition key immobilizer control module and ECM faulty.try this procedure remove all possible sources of signal interference from the key ring. switch ignition on for 5 seconds then switch off ignition. wait for 10 seconds switch ignition on 5 seconds again then switch ignition off. wait 10 minutes again then try start engine if engine dont start problem in the immobilizer control module, ignition key or ignition switch keylock cylinder,or ECM problem. have vechicle code scan first before buying new parts.

try another key, if you install another key with ignition in the on position for 3 seconds warning light off, then turn off ignition switch, then start engine.if engine still dont start and the pats warning light keep flashing and dont turn off in 3 seconds.you need have vechicle pats system scan at dealership, you need diagnostic equipment to trouble shoot the PATS SYSTEMS.many things will cause you problems like fault to ecm to the immobilizer control module, could have worn transponder on key or faulty read coil in the ignition switch lock cylinder.

2005 mazda6 wont start new alternator, battery, and starter

have you tried a diffrent key, these keys have chips in them without a good reabable chip it will not start, i would first have the computer scanned for any stored codes as when theres a problem the computer picks it up and stores codes, these codes will help by telling you where the problem is and with some checking you can find the core of the problem, i,m not sure whats happening when you try to start it but from the parts you listed i guess it doesnt do anything when you turn the key, the engine doesnt spins at all and try to start. i would try key first and then scan for codes. hope this helps.

When i try to start the car it wont turnover an it keeps blinking security on the dashboard

Your key has a computer chip in it that tells the computer that the person who owns the car is trying to start it. Sometimes the key will lose its memory and the car computer thinks your a thief with the wrong key. You may have to have a new key made from a code the dealer can aquire from the VIN number I believe.

Trying to reset theft system

Can try doing a  relearn process, it is pretty simple and will take 30 minutes, if it'll work for you at all since your problem doesn't sound like a computer issue.
30-Minute Learn Procedure
1. Turn on the ignition, with the engine OFF.
2. Attempt to start the engine, then release the key to ON; the vehicle will not start.
3. Observe the SECURITY tell tale light. After approximately 10 minutes, the light will turn OFF.
4. Turn OFF the ignition switch, and wait 5 seconds.
5. Repeat steps 1 through 4 - two more times - for a total of 3 cycles of 10 minutes. 3x10 = 30 minutes.
The vehicle is now ready to relearn the Passlock Sensor Data Code and/or passwords on the next ignition switch turn from OFF to CRANK.

Important:
Turn the Ignition Switch OFF.
The vehicle learns the Passlock Sensor Data Code and/or password on
the next ignition switch transition from OFF to CRANK. You must turn the ignition
OFF before attempting to start the vehicle.
6. Start the engine. The vehicle has now learned the Passlock Sensor Data Code
and/or password.
7. With a scan tool, clear any DTCs if needed. History DTCs will self clear after 100
ignition cycles.
Without a scan tool you may have momentary starter interruptions while history clears itself.

Good luck and hope this help's. keep me posted if you need other ways to disable the passive lock system
