prev.gif next.gif Fuel Filter The fuel filter is part of the fuel tank module. (in the fuel tank)

It's kind of difficult to drop a fuel tank and replace the fuel tank module due to the weight and danger of gasoline catching fire or exploding.

Normally the fuel filter is under the driver side on the frame. If not follow the gas line down and you will find it between the engine and the fuel tank. Hope this helps.

Where is the fuel filter located on 2006 chevy silverado 1500 ext.cab?

Chevorlet did away with the inline fuel filter on the Silverado, so your truck does not have one that can be serviced or replaced like the earlier models had.
They have a "lifetime" filter/strainer built into the fuel sender inside the tank...I hope this helps.

Which parts to replace for tuneup @ 100K mile

A 100,000 mile tune up should include spark plugs, spark plug wires, fuel filter, if it has one under the frame(some newer cars have an in the tank fuel filter that is usually only changed when the fuel pump dies. Also replace the air filter if it is dirty and has been there over 20,000 miles. Some of the later models have coil on plug design and then there is no wires to replace. check tire pressure and the spare this also improves gas mileage.

there is no external filter in the fuel line, filter is in the tank, doesn't need to be changed unless you have a pump failure

Where is the fuel filter located on my 2006 chevrolet equinox?

For 2006 Equinox 2WD 3.4L SFI OHV
http://www.autozone.com/autozone/repairinfo/repairguide/repairGuideContent.jsp?pageId=0996b43f8075dedf

For 2006 Equinox AWD 3.4L SFI OHV:
http://www.autozone.com/autozone/repairinfo/repairguide/repairGuideContent.jsp?pageId=0996b43f8075dedf

Its the same for both types of Equinox.
The short story: the fuel filter is an integral part of the fuel pump, and 06 Equinox has 2 fuel pumps (each presumably with its own filter), due to the odd shape of its fuel tank.
Note: the last time I thought I had a car whose owner thought it was a fuel pump/fuel strainer/fuel filter promplem turned out to have a bad spark plug wire - it caused identical symptoms (engine missing alot, especially going uphill).
