Question about 2002 Chevrolet Impala

1 Answer

I have a 2001 Chevrolet Impala with about 94,000 miles on it. I took it to a parts store to run a diagnostic after noticing the "Check Engine" light on. The code it threw was a p1810 - TFP VALVE POSITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY code...what needs replaced? I've search everywhere online and can't seem to find a straight answer.

With a scan tools look for data of transmission.
then look for A,B,C,D switch data and compare with chart
these valve are there to confirm oil pressure has been going to the right component.
see witch one of a b c d switch malfunction and have a test to wire from transmission to pcm
signal to pcm it's only a logic pattern on and off state
on is grounded
off is not grounded then if wire is ground then it send a message of malfunctionning switch or oil pressure inside transmission but do the outside diagnosis before
hope it helps

if the problems is outside of transmission 1 hour or 2 at door rate. you ask at dealer a diagnosis and if there is bulletin for P1810

there is a large evaporative leak. keep away form ottozoo, they dont have the brain power to actually diagnose a light bulb., their job is to sell parts., if they sell you the wrong parts tough.Take it to a qualified repair shop that does a lot of GM work or the dealer.

Engine light stays on 2008 impala after cleared takes 40 miles to come back on gas cap tried engine runs fine recently had oil change

The engine light is on due to a fault code that is recognized by the PCM. Bring your vehicle to a well supplied auto store; Autozone and the like, and ask them to read the DTC (diagnostic trouble code) that is stored in the PCM memory. They will perform this easy procedure free of charge.

Have a 2001 chevy impala runs great on acceleration but rough on idle engine light is on gas milage is down replaced plugs and wires wondering if i have an issue with the oxygen sensor

your check engine light will give you information that will help solve the problem-get the computer scanned, go to a retail auto parts store, they all do it for nothing. Write down the actual codes, and come back here with the codes, you will get the help you need.

Take the car to an autoparts store and have them scan the computer for any fault codes that it has stored. Most parts stores will perform the scan for free. Getting the codes will show what faults the computer has noted and in what systems. Hope this helped and best wishes.

2003 Audi A4 1.8T Check Engine light on

The CEL means there is a Diagnostic Fault Code stored in the Engine Control Unit. There are 1000's of DTC's, so you will need to have it read by a Code Reader. Auto Parts stores like Auto Zone, Pep Boys, perhaps even Advanced Auto often will read the code for you; but by law they cannot clear the codes. Many codes do not cause drivability problems, severe ones will trigger the ECU to run in a Limp Mode, which would require repair work before any trip longer than a few miles. Hope this is helpful.
