SOURCE: coolant leaking from behind timing belt cover.

yes i agree that it will be the water pump. they have a drill hole on the side of them so that when the internal seal fails and allows coolant into where the bearings of the pump are it can dribble out of that hole hopfully being noticed before the bearing itself seizes due to running in coolant. if that happens it usually will snap the waterpump in half and if it has a fan on the end of it it usually makes a mess of the radiator , hoses and even the bonnet. if it is the variety that is in behind a timing belt it can wipe out the timing belt and cause extensive damage due to the pistons hitting the valves when the timing belt fails due to the crook pump. either way I wouldn\'t stuff around with it and a pump is only cheap normally. if it is the behind the timing belt variety id be replacing the t belt and any idlers cam seals if needed too while your there. if it is the fan on the end of the pump shaft when new pump fitted check fan that it has no broken blades and the belt is at correct tension . if fitted with a viscous clutch fan check that it is operating as it should and hasn\'t lost the viscous clutch oil making it neally solid or out of balance as it will cause premature pump wear and failure. hope thats info for some one out there cheers

Need to remove crankshaft pulley on 2007 mitsubishi triton which direction to turn clockwise or anti clockwise in this case

if you talking about removing the bolt its anti clockwise
some engines have floating pulleys or keyway locked pulleys
if yours is floating just as a precaution make a note of the timing marks if its a belt driven motor

Need help replacing alternator belt on my Mitsubishi Triton

belt diagram should be on one of the interior fender wells in the engine compartment. Otherwise I'd suggest downloading a copy of the Chilton's Manual for your vehicle

Spark plug gap for 1997 mitsubishi trition 2.4 petrol ute

Spark plug gap does not effect the engine timing so it's not that critical. Thirty 5 (.035) should work just fine.
Otherwise consult a service manual fro your model or call a Mitsubishi service centre

I need a copy of a workshop manual for a 2010 MN mitsubishi triton 2.5 litre diesel 4wd as i cannot find one anywhere on the net and apparantly you cannot even buy them!

Yes, you can get them from your Mistubishi dealer. I bought a copy on CD. It's key coded tho, so you'll have good luck getting a piratted copy to work.
Around $220. It's the Full service manual. Not very user frendly tho, as it's for trained tech folks, but better than nothing.
If your Mitsubishi dealer can't find it, they're lying to you. Tell them it exists, and you want a copy!
