Question about Kia Sephia

1 Answer

I have a 99 Kia Sephia, I replaced the right headlight assembly, plugged the wires in, and now have an extra wire. I have no idea what it plugs into. I am not certain it even plugs into my headlight. It is a single wire with a single plug in. Any idea what this could go to?

It is black. There were two plug-ins to the lights that I plugged in. It looks like it is some sort of connector. It comes out of the same cluster that the headlights do, next to the wiper fluid area.

SOURCE: change spark plug wires on 04 kia sedona

REMOVAL OF THE PLUGS:

Do not attempt any maintenance on spark plug if engine is hot.
1. Disconnect negative battery terminal.
2. Carefully remove high-tension leads.
3. Use compressed air to blow any dirt or debris from around spark plug hole.
4. Check that spark plug fits squarely in spark plug socket and remove spark plug.

Raise a vehicle and install SST(OK552 131 001) in order to replace cylinder 2, 4, 6 spark plug.

INSTALLATION:

1. Install spark plug into cylinder head.

Tightening torque : 18~22lb-ft (25~30N·m, 2.5~3.0kg-m)

2. Reconnect high-tension leads.
3. Reconnect negative battery cable.

Hope this helps and simple to understand. Good luck

99 kia sephia wont start

This sounds like an ignition switch issue. It is located on the opposite side of the ignition lock cylinder (the part you put the key into) and can be purchased for about $20-30. If you are handy with a volt/ohm meter, I can give you directions on how to test the 'start' wire to see if it is getting power before you buy a replacement switch.

My '99 kia sephia overheated, shut off, now wont start

You refilled the water so where did the water you lost go? I suspect it is in the engine combustion chamber. You need to see if you have a blown head gasket and to see why it overheated before trying to start it. Remove all spark plugs and turn if over. If coolant blows out of the cylinders you have a blown head gasket.

make sure that your clean air intake is all hooked up correctly this is a common problem because when the mass air flow sensor detects too much or too little air it will try to die or idle rocky also if it is correct look to make sure the air filter is clean if not then replace it.

Shutter Fluttering

Open the hood and look down at the front of the cylinder head, right above the the exhaust manifold. I would suggest changing the spark plugs, the plug wires, the coil wire, the distributor cap and the rotor button.tarting with the wires. Sound like the electricity is arcing to the surounding metal surfaces.
