Question about 2006 Kia Rio

2006 kia rio lx cranks but does not start, rpms go to about 1000 and it just keeps cranking, what could be the reason for it not starting?

Ok do you hear the fuel pump come on when you switch to on? have you checked the fuses and relay in the left side engine compartment? do you have a check engine light staying on? have you checked for spark at the plugs? let me know

I would guess starter fuse first, then starter. When you turn key, if you don't hear a click, you should focus your attention on the fuse first and then the starter. If you hear a click, then most likely (80%) its the starter solenoid. try to start the car in neutral to rule out the neutral safety switch...good luck

On 2001-2005 vehicles the crankshaft sensor is mounted on the front of the transmission case adjacent to the flywheel.

Possible vacuum leak, check for cel codes and go from there.

Will crank,but wont start


Check the engine control modular. Ask your parts store where it is and what it looks like. You can check for spark to the spark plug to be sure!

Need help removing a window crank handle on 2006 Kia Rio


between the plastik ring and the handle is a clamp wich has to be removed. it looks like an U and can be pushed out with a screwdriver wich is slightly bended

CHECK SPARK PLUG VOLTAGE ( COIL PACK ) IF OK, CHECK FOR FUEL PRESSURE.

Check the trans range switch, Po7XX codes are transmission related. The neutral safety switch for the starter i built into the trans range switch
