Before you end up replacing a bunch of parts that cost big $$$, try tightening or replacing your fuel tank fill cap. The trouble code relates to the EVAP system which recovers gasoline fumes and sends them to the engine to be burned. If the EVAP Purge Solenoid and/or its wiring malfunctions, the solenoid (and possibly its wiring) might have to be replaced. However, a loose-fitting or worn gas cap could also be the culprit, and it's easy to check, tighten and/or replace the cap. Give it a shot.

Where the evap vent valve solenoid on a 1998 chevy monte carlo

well most evap solenoids are either on the back by fuel tank, by differential, or infront by firewall or wheel fender wells which need a lil dissasembly. probably a vacum leak first check ure gas cap that it actually locks and reset code if comes back either a leak to the solenoid or bad connector corrosion maybe.

Code p0300 1998 chevy Camaro. Car does not turn over.

None of these codes by themselves will prevent the car from starting. I would look over the O2 sensor wiring. Maybe the harness is resting on a hot pipe. You can test the components--the sensor and both solenoid valves. Maybe there is a problem at the canister. Unfortunately, the canister and vent valve are atop of the tank, but you can still hear if the vent valve is closing when you apply ground to the white lead. The p0300 is the most likely code to affect starting. Are you getting sparks? If not, suspect the ignition module under the coils. I drive a 2000 Camaro, so I'm pretty familiar with this model.

PO 1665 code 1998 Buick Rivera, PO 440 code

EVAP is for Evaporative emissions control system, so no this is not EGR, that is Exhaust Gas Recirculation system, as far as the P1665 goes it is related to the other trouble code P0440, u will need to replace the EVAP system Purge flow control solenoid. This should correct both problems after u replace the part disconnect the battery for 5 min's to reset system.

Service engine light stays on.Oxygen senor& IAT sensor replaced .

Hi e_lockley. The description for that P1665 code is EVAP Vent Solenoid Control Circuit Conditions. It refers to the circuit (electrical) of the solenoid.

Do a proper diagnosis, don't just replace the solenoid because the problem may also be with the wiring and connectors leading to the solenoid. Grab a repair manual and do it yourself or ask your mechanic to verify that the part has failed before replacing it.

Good luck. You may also want to read up on another P1665 case here - http://www.obd-codes.com
