Where is the fuel pressure regulator located on a 2000 Chevy Express 3500 7.4

It's on the return fuel line at the end of the fuel rail. My info says, you have to remove upper intake manifold to get at it. If you have new fuel pressure regulator, you know what it looks like, correct? I couldn't find a good picture. You can look at an online partsbook for that component, rockauto.com usually has a picture.

Make sure no fuel pressure on system before you take anything loose.

2011 KIA Sorrento 2.4 were is the fuel pressure regulator located. put on adjustable fuel reg .need to disconnect stock one

fuel pressure regulators are normally located in the fuel manifold. They are either vacuum controlled or electronic controlled to maintain the right fuel pressure for engine requirements and to shut off the fuel pump when the ignition is turned off
If your manually adjusted unit will not do all that then you are asking for fault codes to appear and all sorts of problems to occur

Do you know what fuel pressure regulator is ? These like to leak when they get older !
The cartridge type fuel pressure regulator (1) is a diaphragm-operated relief valve (6) with fuel pump pressure on one side, and regulator spring (2) pressure, and intake manifold vacuum on the other side. The regulators function is to maintain a constant fuel pressure across the injectors at all times. The pressure regulator compensates for engine load by increasing fuel pressure as engine vacuum drops.
The cartridge regulator is serviced as a separate component. When servicing the fuel pressure regulator, insure that the O-ring backup, (3) large O-ring, (4) filter screen, (5) and small O-ring (7) are properly placed on the pressure regulator.
It's located on the fuel injector fuel rail !

Starts rough and stalls.

Hi there:
When it acts up like this locate your fuel rail under the hood on the engine. The fuel rail is the component that the fuel injectors are seated into on top of the intake.

On this fuel rail you will see at one end of it that there is a fuel pressure regulator with a vacuum hose connected to it,this will be the only component on the fuel rail that has a vacuum hose connected to it.

Remove the vacuum hose from the regulator and see if fuel pours or dribbles out of this regulator at all.If it does then the regulator needs replaced as no fuel should come out of this at all.

If you do not notice any fuel then let the vehicle sit after being shut off with the vacuum hose off the regulator for around 30 minutes and see if any fuel pours out then.

If it does then the regulator needs replaced. This is a common failure on this engine and will cause the problems you are having here on your vehicle as I have had to replace quite a few of these before to correct this problem.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Thank you for using FixYa, have a nice day.

Fuel pressure regulator. Where is it?

Hi welcome to fixya. Well if you know the basics of an engine and know what the intake manifold and carburetor and or fuel injectors look like and are located, youll find this a simple task. Looking at the engine intake manifold where the fuel line comes into the fuel rail witch then disperses the fuel to the injectors, you will see a metal round diaphram looking component. That my friend is your fuel pressure regulator.

Fuel Pump on 1997 Jeep cherokee country comes on with key, but no fuel to fuel rail???

If you can crack open the connection at the tank, I would do that to see if there is fuel getting past the filter/regulator. The fuel pressure regulator is an integral component of the fuel filter, which is mounted on top of the fuel pump module, located in the fuel tank. When the fuel filter/regulator assembly requires service, the fuel tank must be removed from the vehicle, however, the fuel pump module does not need to be removed.
If there is no fuel at the connection to the tank, the regulator has likely failed or perhaps the pump impeller has failed. Please let us know if you have more questions.
