Question about 1996 Honda Accord

1 Answer

I have a 1996 Honda Accord and the other day I had put in on heat then later when I went to switch it back it's not blowing out cold air, its blowing like luke warm air. It's not hot and it's not cold. Can you tell me what you think the problem is? Or how I can go about testing the a/c?

Could be low on freon, have a pro check it out unless you have the proper gauges. Or could be the low pressure switch is not working. System must be tested for leaks first then pressure checked. DO NOT just add more freon from a can you could damage the compressor or parts of the a.c.

SOURCE: No heat. Fan blows cold air.

I think u may have an air temperature control blend door problem, the door is moved by a small electric motor, it is stuck in the cold position.

the a/c system may be low on a charge. have a a/c shop ck it. if its low, have them ck for a leak. if unable to locate a leak, they may need to rechagre it, and add a UV dye and you may have to bring it back several weeks later.

SOURCE: 1999 Honda Accord heater not blowing hot air

Sounds like a thermostat or cooling system issue. Change the fluid and the thermostat. It will do your engine good so it's money well spent.

SOURCE: the heat in my honda accord blow warm air.not hot

sounds like you have one of two problems first check at heater core lines going into heater core see if they are hot if only one is warm then it could be the thermostat but honda's have issues with hot water valve cable jamming up this valve is located behind engine near firewall on one of the heater core hoses.

SOURCE: I have a 1996 Honda Accord. The heater blows out

yes that means the thermostat is stuck open or you are low on coolant, check level first.

Low freon is the problem. And if you have enough freon then the high pressure switch can be going bad. If the switch is bad replace the expansion vavle at this time.

My 96 accord had the same prob. if you don't have a leak you need to make sure
of that first if no leak and not over charged ( my 96 accord holds 22.9 ounces of 134 )
anyway the fan on left side of motor was bad I replaced it and it works great.
