I own a 1995 Subaru Legacy L. The engine is a 2.2 liter. The car will start just fine. After a few minutes, the engine idle lowers (normal). The problem lies in when I put a continuous electrical load on the car. I an start driving and turn on the A/C and then the cluster controls (speedo, tach, etc..)go haywire. Step on the brakes and the cluster controls go to zero. The car starts to stall at that time. Any accessory I put on seems to draw an excessive amount of power from the car. The battery is new...the alternator is new...the battery cables are also new. The charging system was tetsed and is producing more than enough power. The battery was tested and is good. Oh yeah, while driving the ABS system will sometimes try to activate for no reason. I can feel the system shuddering. The ABS light comes on every time the system decreases in power as well. I would love to find out the cause for this problem. It has haunted me for 8 months now. Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Really sounds like you need to make sure all the ground wires body and motor are good. Sometimes a poor ground will do that. The electricity will try to find any thing that it can to return the circuit. I even had one time the ground was going through the shift cable. Which destroyed the cable after a while. Good luck and hope this helps.

have you checked or tested the electrical grounding cables on the engine and battery etc.. I suspect that this is a missing or weak grounding issue
