ENGINE LIGHT IS ON AND CHECKED IT WITH A CODE MACHINE AND THE CODE IS U1411 U1403

OP: Posted by Barbara Frye on May 11, 2016
Barbara. get car serviced? at an ASE shop or dealer?
you cant fix this lacking tools, ill not try to guess.
did you first erase those errors (push reset on tool)?
and see if they return, ???? this is first.
have you had work on the pump/tank area.
in a collision?

here is why.
first check fuses. any blown.?
then do the cluster self test, no tools needed.
posted here 100s of time, need that?, or the free link to the test in the FSM book? posted that too 100s of times here. (ask or search)

next is scan it, see all errors, not just the 2 you see now.
a real scan tool shows all errors and for sure those that might be related, and any CAN-BUS errors.
a real scan tool can see all JEEP extended DTC errors.
also post if the instrument cluster is acting odd. in any way.
does the fuel gauge work? can you tell?
needle steady and correct for reality,

QOD: questions of the day,
does engine run?
does car drive, correctly day and night with bright head lights?
does any other feature of the car fail. any at all.
no charge lamp failures in cluster, nor volt meter below 14v in the cluster meter of same name (volts)???

1411
Theory of Operation
The Front Control Module isn't receiving a fuel volume signal over CAN B from the Cluster Module. The FCM has
to send the PCM a fuel volume signal over CAN C. The signal the FCM sends over CAN C is implausible.
my guess is 1403 is the real error. (primary)
the fuel sender might be glitching,

here is that sensor,
in the tank , part of pump, part of fuel rack. in tank.

I took my 2007 Aspen to autozone because engine light was on. The following codes came up: U11OE, U11OC, U1120, U0141, U1403 what is wrong?

https://www.allpar.com/fix/codes.html

Check above link for possible information relating to your issues. Also bear in mind that sometimes the codes thrown up are phantoms, symptoms of a failing sensor.

GOOD LUCK

2007 Chrysler Aspen

is this a jeep or and aspen. confusing post for sure.

like all 1996 and newer cars in usa;.
do a pcm reset,
drive see if they clear. (see if they self clear) if not , they are REAL.

how to do that , there are 3 ways
  • pull battery , neg lug. (radio codes lost. nav lost, trans relearn happens... shift hard till it learns...
  • better pull pcm memory fuse. (PCM OID FUSE)
  • best, push the reset button on the scan too. rent a tool?
1103 means service light on, so is useless in view of others.

ever search first.
here is ASE guys. pros. 1st hit btw.

http://www.2carpros.com/questions/the-following-codes-appeared-u110e-u1411-u1120-u0101-u110c

or look in your FSM book first. see those words telling what each mean? if sounds like greek, then get car fixed?

After I change my battery give me all this codes ,u1403,u0141,u1120,u1103,u110e

All the codes you have listed are all Network Communications Codes....Possible Computer Failure..All codes are for different control modules at fault...Body control modules, drive motor control modules.Power control modules...,etc....Did you touch anything that caused sparks..?..Was lights,radio,..etc..turned on when battery was replaced..? You can try disconnecting battery completely..Then reconnect...USE SAFETY GLASSES..They could all be false codes if you are lucky...The computer will reset itself doing this...Be positive ALL components are OFF before doing this.....If all is the same codes take it to dealer and they will use proper scanner...

I have a 2007 jeep compass...it stalled the other day. I took it to auto zone for a code reading...states code U1403. What is this and how can I fix it?

"U-codes" (codes beginning with a "U" prefix) are communications faults. Your vehicle is equipped with several computer modules which are all networked to gether on what is called the "Control Area Network" or "CAN". When one of the modules failes to communicate or if there is invalid data being transmitted by one of the modules, a U-code is stored in continuous memory in one or more of the other modules.

In your case, U1403 pertains to invalid or implausible data being recieved from the fuel level sensor by the Powertrain Control Module. Please note that this is NOT a fuel level sensor failure code and does NOT indicate faulty fuel level sensor circuits.

Theory of Operation

The TIPM receives a fuel level signal over CAN B from the Cluster. The TIPM transmits the fuel level message to the PCM over the CAN C bus.

The possible causes of this code are:
> Open or shorted CAN B circuit
> Instrument Cluster (CCN)
> Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM)
> Powertrain Control Module (PCM)

To properly diagnose tis code, you must use a scan tool to access and verify data on all available modules. You must also determine if this is an active fault or an intermittent fault.

I don't see a fuel level signal problem at the PCM causing your engine to stall. However, the fuel level signal may be getting lost or "scrambled" due to a lack of communications between modules or a malfunctioning module. This could cause all sorts of problems (including stalling).

I would also like to add that my personal experience with this type of problem (communications faults) has taught me that the FIRST thing that should be done is a THOROUGH check of the BATTERY and CHARGING SYSTEM before attempting any communications diagnostics. If your battery is more than 4 years old, it is VERY LIKELY be the ROOT CAUSE of the problem. Computers tend to do all kinds of wierd things when they are not being fed properly.

It's not unusual for the body control module to fail, nor is unusual for the comunicator to fail.
