SOURCE: how to check trans oil level

I assume that you have a 6 cyl. There are two plugs on the trans pan.the big one is the drain and the small one is the check plug. There is a fill on the side. The trans uses ws fluid which is what you need to use. What i do is remove the check plug and add fluid until it comes out. Then start the engine and let it warm up, the recomended temp is 97 to 115 degrees f or 36 to 46 degrees c.As it warms up the fluid will come out, once it reaches the temp range put the plug back in.I use a computer to monitor the temp but a temp gun on the pan will do.

SOURCE: cannot locate transmission filler plug on 2007

Raise vehicle and support with safety latches/jackstands, etc. The transaxle fill plug is located above the location where the passenger c.v. halfshaft enters into the transaxle. You'll need to purchase a 5/8" square drive in order to remove and re-install it.

Where do i insert transmission oil

You need to indicate the year and model of vehicle you have and whether you are talking about an automatic transmission or a manual transmission.

If it is an auto, many models do not have dip sticks and filler tube in the vehicle's engine bay. The auto trans must be filled from the side of the transmission at the filler port and accessed from under the vehicle

Where is transmission dipstick 1989 Mercedes 300SE

If it is not under the bonnet in the engine bay and clearly marked so you can find it then that model and engine does not have an auto trans dip stick and filler tube. The auto transmission has to be filled by removal of a filler plug on the side of the transmission and accessed from under the vehicle.

Where is the transmission filler plug on my 2007 Fiat Bravo 1.9 multijet diesel with manual transmission? Is that a 10 mm bolt of about 50 mm long with a copper washer behind the head? Cheers.

filler plugs are normally located about 1/2 way up the side of the box
can be a hex plug around 19mm spanner size with a thread length of 12mm
It may even be a square head plug that is a bsp thread like what is used on water pipes
the fill plug hole is the oil level to the bottom of the threads in the hole

Where is the transmission filler cap on a 2007 550i E60 BMW?

BMW transmission oil shouldn't be changed according the label on the side of the trans housing. The is also no trans oil dip stick and tube under the hood like on older cars. Workshops pump new oil in with a trans oil exchange machine.

WHERE DO I PUT THE TRANSMISSION FLUID IN MY ISUZU RODEO 1998 4WD V6-3.2L ENG. WHERE IS THE FILLER???

stevenhurc_15.jpg most didnt have dip stick for auto trans, fill through fill plug shown then start and run through gears to circulate oil then remove fill plug while engine is still running and topup until oil just trickles out of filler plug hole. It is a bit of a pain to fill and can get messy depending on what you have available and be careful of the hot exhaust as you fill and top up trans level.

I need to add transmission fluid to the manual transmission of a 1986 mazda 323

please DO NOT ADD TRANS FLUID TO A MANUAL BOX.
on the side of the box you will see a square bolt head, this is the filler/level plug, remove it and, if required, fill with ep90 gearbox oil until it overflows, when it stops dripping replace plug.

WHILE DOING AN ENGINE OIL CHANGE I DRAINED THE AUTO TRANS FLUID BY MISTAKE. HOW DO I RE'FILL THE TRANS ?

Fluid Level Checking & Filling To Check:
  1. Connect a scan tool to the vehicle to read ATF temperature. ATF checking temperature should be 95° - 113°F (35° - 45°C).
  2. Start the engine.
  3. Raise and safely support the vehicle.
  4. Place a drain pan under the transmission.
  5. Allow the ATF temperature to reach 95° - 113°F (35° - 45°C). Automatic transmission fluid inspection plug vw-07-00-7273.gif

  6. Remove the inspection plug from the transmission housing. Fluid is pipe will run out. If fluid continues to drip out, no additional fluid is needed. If only the fluid in the overflow pipe runs out, additional fluid is needed.
To Fill:
Automatic transmission fluid filler pipe vw-07-00-7274.gif

  1. Pry the cap from the filler pipe. The cap locking device will be destroyed during removal.
  2. Pull the plug from the filler pipe.
  3. Add fluid slowly with VAG 1924 or equivalent until fluid runs out of the inspection hole. Install the inspection hole plug.
  4. Install the plug in the filler pipe and secure with a new cap.

Help...94 Suburban 1500 auto 4x4, I am changing

I'm pretty sure GM built your truck with the diesel engine as an option so there is a way to make this work. The trans shifts are based on a combination of ground speed and engine RPM so as long as the computer is able to get these signals your trans should work. I put an early 90's overdrive in a mid 80's truck and didn't plug the wiring in because the trans used a 4 wire plugin and my truck only had a 3 wire. It worked fine, even overdrive.
A little jury rigging and ingenuity should find a way to attach your current kickdown cable to the accellerator on the diesel pump. GM probably has a bracket to make it fit. Check with the parts guys at the counter. Hope this helps.
