SOURCE: 1997 jetta will start but wont stay runnig.

You have a problem with the EMU or a small electric valve which controls the idle speed of the engine

When you take your foot off it is supposed to hold the engine at say 700- 800rpm

The fuel input be it petrol or diesel is metered to the engine under the control of the EMU

Have you had the battery off recently, if so there is more than a chance that you have lost the settings for the idle speed and pain in the **** that it is, you need a man with a laptop to check it out and set it up

SOURCE: 1994 GMC Sierra 1500 6.5 diesel runs for awhile then stalls

check your pmd switch. i had mine changed and it runs great. the problem is that it gets too hot and burns it up. be sure to move the pmd swith on the firewall away from the injection pump.

SOURCE: I HAVE A 2004 GMC Serria that when I try to put

Welcome to the GM world. Try filling the tank first by not putting the nozzle in to far and start slow first then you can gradually squeeze the trigger more. It's like an art and when you can find the right spot the nozzle needs to be to fill, your good to go. I have a Jimmy and Montana, they both get filled differently except that i need to start slow first then i can squeeze the trigger all that way after 5 seconds. Good luck and enjoy your new truck.

SOURCE: I have a 1988 GMC Sierra 1500 that wont stay running

1988 gmc runs for a little but dies. Check your c.t.s that checks the temp. of your coolent and when it fails it tells computor engin is hot, t.p.s takes over closes butterfly and chocks the air to keep engine from runnin to lean. If engine is not hot it will flood and stop runnin then some time will go by befor truck tries to start. May not be probablem but its a thought. c.t.s is located on manifold by top radiator hose neck. My truck was fine than sat had simmilor problem when i went to use again thats what i changed and seems to be back to normal. Hope this helps.

My 90 gmc sierra v6 wont stay idleing and keeps shuting off.it starts right up until i give it some gas

sounds like a classic vacuum leak, check the hoses at the base of the throttle body there are a couple in front and two larger ones in the back one of them could have cracked or broken causing an incorrect intake vacuum hence the lack of power and such

Sounds like the clutch is starting to go out, my Sierra did the same thing between 3rd and 4th. Time to get the tranny overhauled or replaced.
