SOURCE: 2001 Infiniti QX4 low beam bulb replacement instructions

Look directly behind the headlight box if there is a rubber sleave covering the plug take it off. Unplug the wires from the bulb, there may be a saftey clip you will have to pry up to get it off.after you get the plug off the bulb holder should twist counterclockwise then it will pull right off. When you change the bulb just remember to wipe your body oil off the bulb before attaching it back into the headlight box. Then plug it back in and your in business. The high beam has three wires and the low beam has two wires. The bulb will have to be the right one.

SOURCE: how many catalitic converters are on the 2001 infiniti QX4

There are only to Catalysts monitored by the ECM. There is a wide pipe near the front of the exhaust system that looks like it houses a catalyst, but it doesn't. Look for the rear O2 sensor, that is where the catalyst is. If the bolts that hold it on are not badly rusted, and depending on your mechanical aptitude you could replace them, otherwise take it to a shop. Have you checked the warranty coverage with the dealership?

SOURCE: Pls where is Swirl Control Solenoid Valve located in Infiniti QX4

This link shows the location of the SCV, If your motor is different the location should be similiar.

There's a vaccuum line that runs off the SCV to the SCV check switch.

P0442: Have you inspected the lines, charcoal cannister etc? Make sure the fuel cap is tight. The easiest way to check the system is to have someone perform a smoke test. I had a DTC on my car which indicated a EVAP problem, it turned out to be the Fuel tank evaporator Control Solenoid.

When the car is completely cool, check the electric fan(s) for smooth rotation.

Clean/check/change the thermo sensor, contact and wire.

Excavate air pocket in coolant system / check for head gasket leak

This test will kill two birds with one stone.

You will spill some coolant during this air pocket purge test.......BE KIND TO THE ENVIRONMENT and ANIMAL please clean up after the test!

Put the front end on a pair of ramp or park your car on a VERY STEEP HILL (radiator facing top of the hill) .

Top of the coolant reserve tank

Let it ran for 10-15 minutes.

Monitor for air pockets escaping from coolant reserve tank.

Small amount of bubbles is OK at 1-5 minute mark

After the thermostat open up (after 195 F warm up) at
5-12 minute mark or after high idle you should see less bubbles.

If you do not see any in rush of bubbles then your thermostat may be partially stuck or rusted badly inside the thermostat hosing.

Give the thermostat host few gentle taps.

If you see larger bubbles surfacing after 15 minutes then should do a hydrocarbon (HC) dye test to test for potential head gasket leak.

Let engine cold down and top off coolant reserve tank.

Start monitor for coolant lost

A coolant flush is require every 2 years or 24,000 miles.

I recommend the thermostat that has a relief pop-let to reduce the change of burst radiator and coolant hoses.

Make sure you get a new thermostat gasket, black RTV and fresh coolant for the job.

Please post more information by clicking the comment link on the top right corner.

Where is the torque converter clutch solenoid?

The torque converter is inside the transmission. The (electric) clutch solenoid - usually - is on the outside of the transmission case.

Get a flashlight, get under the vehicle and look on the transmission case for electrical wires..

The link below will give you a general idea of what it may look like:

My key wont turn ignition in 1995 infinity qx4

It sounds like he has an issue with the ignition lock cylinder, assuming he is using the correct vehicle key. My advise would be to replace it instead of trying to figure out what is wrong with the one you have because the labor for that would probably be more than replacing the lock cylinder.

After misfiring for about a week my 2002 Qx4 infiniti engine started overheating. took it to a dealer who changed the radiator then reports that engine needs overhaul after water found now coming from the...

They changed the radiator and then told you need the engine overhauled? That tells me you don't want to deal with them! Any shop should have tested things out not just arbitraly start replacing parts. So unless your vehicle is still under warranty, then I would take it somewhere else to have them work on it.

Since I am not there to check out your vehicle, this is a WAG on what is going on with your engine.

Since you started off with misfiring - that could be a sign that your spark plugs are being fouled by oil or a few more things. But not usually an indication of a cracked block at least at that point.

But then you add the overheating into the equation - depending on how fast it overheats - right away (a couple of blocks driving) could mean either a blown head gasket or a cracked block but slowly could mean low coolant; radiator blockage, and so many more things.

If your engine was misfiring, you should have gotten an error code from your computer, which if acted on right away could have been a much cheaper fix. Now with what should like either a blown head gasket or maybe even a chrack block you are talking major work and dollars!

Heater blows cold air when vehicle is idleing checked coolant level,ok. bought new thermostat wondering how to install???

Follow the Top radiator hose ( The big one) to the engine, remove the hose and the housing that the hose came off of is what houses the thermostat. There should only be two or three bolts holding the housing onto the engine. Depending on what make and model. When you replace the thermostat make sure that the side with the spring goes into the engine. Remove any old gasket material , place the thermostat into the block, then the gasket, then the housing. When tightening the housing make sure you don't tighten it to tight, they break very easy. Hope that helps

4 Wheel Drive while turning

Basically the advisement is there due to the fact the vehicle has opposing differiential gears and when in turns this creates a bind to where 4 wheel drive can not be acheived until lined out and rolling straight. I suppose repeated activation in this situation could add wear and stress to the system because it is bound up, but it is more of a liability disclaimer which states 4WD will not be activated and can't be counted on in this condition.
