Which fuse box on the 2011 Chevy Malibu is the fuse for the rear defrost

Fuse box rear , fuse #23 30 amp ! Do you know where this is located ? There is also a relay for the Rear window defogger , located in the same rear fuse box .
Fuse Block - Rear
Left side of the luggage compartment, behind the left rear wheel well . But you really need to know how it works , you can check fuse an relay .
Rear Window Defogger Operation
Battery positive voltage is supplied through the BATT 1 fuse in the underhood fuse block to the rear defog relay switched input. When the rear defog switch button is pressed, the body control module (BCM) energizes the rear defog relay by providing a B+ to the control circuit of the rear defog relay. This allows battery positive voltage from the relay switched input through the switch contacts and out the relay switched output to the rear window defogger grid. The HVAC control module houses the rear defog switch and also illuminates the rear defog indicator on the switch button, upon this request. Ground for the rear window defogger grid is provided by G301 for the Sedan or G302 For the Extended Sedan.

Wiring diagram for rear window defogger 2005 silverado from dash to deffoger

Rear Window Defogger System Components
The rear window defogger system consist of the following components:
• HVAC control module
• Body control module (BCM)
• DEFOG relay
• Rear window defogger grid
Rear Window Defogger Operation
When you turn the ignition to the ON position, ignition voltage is supplied to the DEFOG relay coil. Battery positive voltage is supplied at all times to the DEFOG relay switched input. When the rear window defogger switch is depressed, the HVAC control module illuminates the rear window defogger indicator and sends a class 2 message to the BCM. The BCM energizes the DEFOG relay by grounding the control circuit of the relay. This allows battery positive voltage from the relay switched input through the switch contacts and out the relay switched output to the rear window defogger. Ground for the rear window defogger is provided by G306 or G390 (crew cab).
When you turn ON the ignition and press the rear window defogger switch for the first time, the defogger cycle lasts 10 minutes. Further operation results in 5 minute defogger cycles.

Do you know what your messing with ? What's the problem ?

Do you have the wiring for the rear defogger?

Did you check voltage and ground at rear defog connector, purple wire should be voltage, black wire is ground. Check to see what your missing, defog turned on. If you have good voltage and ground, then suspect a break in the defog grid. If you can locate the break, the auto store should have some stuff you can paint over the break to allow continuity for the grid.
Also, you should be able to check grid continuity, ohms test. If no continuity, something wrong with grid.
Here is partial diagram.

Fuse box layout for peugeot 106

The rear defogging strips are usually just screenprinted and are very thin conductors. If the strip has been damaged in any way so that it has even a small break in the strip it will not conduct electricity any more and thus will not work. Could be a problem with the switch or the fuse also, but I expect the first.

My rear defrost will not work but the light works, whats the problem

Visually inspect the heating grid attached to the inside of the rear window for breaks in the horizontal lines. Any break in the filaments in the grid will cause a partial failure of the defroster, leaving a portion of the window fogged or obscured.

  • 2 Use a test light or voltmeter to detect breaks in the filaments that aren't visible to the ***** eye. Touch one lead of the light or voltmeter to a grounded metal part of the car and the other lead to a spot on the heating grid. If the light doesn't light or the voltmeter doesn't register a reading, that indicates a break in the filament.
  • 3 Place a piece of tape on each side of the break. Align one piece just above the filament, the other piece just below it, leaving a thin space through which the filament passes.
  • 4 Apply the filament repair liquid with its applicator onto each break you've identified. Be sure to thoroughly cover the broken spot. Allow the repair to fully cure per the instructions on the bottle, then carefully remove the pieces of tape so they don't rip the filament repair.
  • 5 Inspect the the vertical lines on the heating grid if you've discovered that the entire heating grid fails to work. Any break in the vertical lines will cause complete grid failure. These can be can be repaired in the same way as the horizontal lines. Check to ensure that the metal power tabs on each side of the grid are securely fastened to the vertical lines, as a break here will also prevent the entire grid from heating.
  • 6 Reattach the metal power tabs to the heating grid as needed by removing the tab from its connector and repairing it using the epoxy found in the heating tab repair kit. Be sure to allow the full curing time indicated on the kit before reinserting the tab into the connector to ensure that the circuit isn't broken.
  • 7 Check the power switch and wiring to the rear window defogger if there are no breaks in the heating grid and both of the metal power tabs are securely connected to the grid. Replace the switch and/or wiring as necessary.
